La Roux and whoever produced that Beyonce track probably stole those drums too. Relax mate, it's all cool, just put those on a mpc and put out some beats.joshisrad wrote:Really? That's interesting.. I have some kicks and claps from a Beyonce track and from a La Roux track but I never use them cause of copyright, more for inspiration. Would be sweet to use them if it doesn't actually matter.ChadDub wrote:It's all good man, no one cares about drum samples in terms of sueing people and shit. You think every producer on earth records and/or synthesizes their own drums? No. No one's going to notice either way. A few of the samples I even actually took straight from song's like that Koan kick and some dirty808 kicks.

Not quite, feedback is an effect. It would be more akin to Jimi suing me for sampling his guitar riff, which I think is possible.. rather, his record label.
But w/e. If nobody will know the difference I guess it doesn't matter

no it`s not, it`s more him suing you for using one of his guitar notesjoshisrad wrote:Not quite, feedback is an effect. It would be more akin to Jimi suing me for sampling his guitar riff, which I think is possible.. rather, his record label.

single hits are impossible to track the source

Re: Rap, Hip Hop, and some Dubstep drum samples (43MB, 120+)
Good call. Wow though man so I could like, sample instrument audio one-hits from any song I want and just shape it a bit in Kontakt and not suffer any copyright shit? That's crazy. Are there any artists that are known for this?Electric_Head wrote:no it`s not, it`s more him suing you for using one of his guitar notesjoshisrad wrote:Not quite, feedback is an effect. your missing my point
he samples all elements of music
From strings to vocals to atmospheres
the skies the limit
Have you fiddled much with time stretching and pitch shifting?
limitless possibilites

Yes I am pretty fuckin good with granular synthesis but I never thought it would be ok to use things from commercial tracks

it`s ok as long as you`re not just copying and pastingjoshisrad wrote:Yes I am pretty fuckin good with granular synthesis but I never thought it would be ok to use things from commercial tracks

Re: Rap, Hip Hop, and some Dubstep drum samples (43MB, 120+)
If it's a big release then there it a chance that someone will recognise what samples you've used, then you'll have to get them cleared. Though it's not happened with a lot of tracks which sample Amen Brother.
I wouldn't worry tbh. Use whoever's kick clap or snare you want.

Re: Rap, Hip Hop, and some Dubstep drum samples (43MB, 120+)
funny how most people around here break a sweat for sampling an 808 hit ... and still rock 10 grand soft-rigs... walkin around these forums asking for cracked vsts and shit...
such a cool generation

I know right. It's ok to steal Massive, and steal Kontakt, and steal Sylenth, and steal your DAW, and steal your music, but it isn't ok to steal a sample.Ldizzy wrote:funny how most people around here break a sweat for sampling an 808 hit ... and still rock 10 grand soft-rigs... walkin around these forums asking for cracked vsts and shit...

Just produced two tracks that are about 80% samples of dub songs. Double stealing real badman.
