Seeking Producers for Mainstream Songs

Post by sendusyourdemos » Fri Jan 13, 2012 3:30 am

Hi all,
We’re a songwriting/production team looking for dub/electro/pop/top 40/urban producers to collaborate with. In the past year, we’ve had numerous releases in Asia, including multiple #1’s (Japan, Korea, Hong Kong), as well as releases in North America on Billboard-charting albums and soundtracks, advertising, film and television. We are seeking collaborators to increase the volume of placements we are already getting.

The basic workflow with collaborators would be:
  • You send us some tracks; in some cases we’ll collaborate to create tracks.
  • We write the topline (ie, melody and lyrics) to the tracks.
  • We finish the production (ie, record singer(s), edit, mix) to create incredible sounding masters.
  • We pitch the songs to key projects in a variety of markets.

So all you have to do is create GREAT tracks with commercial appeal.

Repeat: this is for producers interested in earning a living making MAINSTREAM songs.

If interested, please post a demo of recent work and how we can reach you, or contact us directly at sendusyourdemos@gmail.com.

I doubt anyone can earn a living making NON MAINSTREAM SONGS.

I can tell you're an idiot just by the way you say MAINSTREAM SONGS, as if mainstream is a genre.

err it is?

Its tunes which can be bought into various markets due to their structure, musicality and their commercially viable sound.

A soul song can be mainstream, a dubstep song can be mainstream, a celtic folk song can be mainstream, a rap song can be mainstream, a noise song can be mainstream. Mainstream is just a term used to describe being in the main stream of things.

depends on how you define the term 'genre'.
...in my opinion

But they posted it on a dubstepforum... So they probably aren't here looking for celtic folk or soul... Not a sermon, just a thought.

And yet you still use a Gmail account to do business? :|

Yeah, no.

edit - I have since spoken to OP, and this appears to be a legitimate opportunity.

uber dodgy,

imo, this is a very unprofessional way to come up ...

even if i were in front of warner a&rs id ask them a couple more questions, and wouldnt agree with clauses like these...

you guys want to succeed.. then give something to people first.. show at least some sense of open-mindedness and flexibility..

dont want to be rude but great partnerships mostly come from win-win scenarios.. not uber simplistic pleads based around the "this is for the person who wants to succeed and earn money instantly" argument..

still open to hear what you have to answer to our questions :)

im always open to business opportunities!

I cant believe the pessimism here. Someone is reaching out, and offering an opportunity to potentially make a lot of £$£

This place stinks recently

Not to be too pesimistic, but i do understand all the negative responses about this post. Coming from the CG/Design industry i have seen a lot of similar propositions and they usually didnt end up well.
And it all comes to how u present ur offer. If u r serious about it, then u r probably not affraid to post some info about ur business, a web page is always nice and maybe some of the billboard hits he is talking about, but deffinetly dont hide behind some generic sendusurdemo@gmail account... that looks fishy from miles away specially when posted on forums like this one, that are full of willing , enthusiastic young people that are perfect for being taken advantage off. Now i m not saying this is a scam in no way but just be careful not to get burned, and a reminder to the OP for future post that being also more professional when looking for partners will prevent such negative feedback... cheers.

What other information and evidence did they provide that enabled you to change your mind and arrive at that conclusion? :)

I feel that real dubstep would go over well in a commercial or as the soundtrack to something serious like a movie or tv show.
