Goth Trad - Alone Warrior (Free 320 via XLR8R)

Post by dutty_switch » Wed Jan 18, 2012 2:59 pm

For all those who were after THAT tune from Bassweight, Goth Trad has generously given it away for free through XLR8R magazine. :D

Bit gutted it's not gonna see a vinyl release but I'm chuffed it came out at all. Large up Goth Trad each and every.

I was thinking the same thing. Can you cut a dubplate from a 320 though? I'm not sure how it works with file compression and quality etc but would love to have this on a 10" with Sleeper GTFO on the flip. :)

You can cut a dubplate from any audio source, its just preferred to have the best quality. Being a dubplate and taking into account its being played in a noisy environment, 320 is by no means "bad" imo.

I'd never get a 320 mp3 cut to dub, quality isn't good enough.

I love when people say this. I feel that 99.9 percent of it is all placebo. I've taken plenty of MP3 vs Wav sound tests, and I have a very keen ear, played music all my life, very good at detecting subtleties and I've found that for me, there is no audible difference to my human ear. Now technically yes, there is a difference, but soundwise, there is absolutely none to me and anyone else I know who is a musician as well. Plus, do you really think people are going to notice in a noisy area...no, thats the last thing on their mind ..."OH WAIT HES USING A 320 AND NOT WAV I CAN TELL..." ..no, just cut a 320, the difference is all placebo.

I can say i have noticed a difference listening through some fairly high end equipment, but the difference is as good as pointless when it would come to something like a dubplate. wav vs 320, theres usually a little bit more air up top and and OCCASIONALLY 320 can sound slightly compressed (dynamic range wise, not bitrate or encoding). Add to the fact that the sound will be further changed depending on what needles you use....blah blah blah. Nobody would ever stop and think "why does that plate not sound good?"
