I just learned that plugins like the Fruity Compressor and Parametric EQ (When in high quality mode) cause delay and don't tell you. I found out when I was trying to set up parallel compression and I got this weird phasing sound. Anyway, I was wondering if anybody knows how much delay they cause or a way for me to find out myself?
Re: PDC FL
This is covered in depth in the FL manual. Failing that, check this link from the ImageLine website that should answer all your questions;

Re: PDC FL
The delay you're talking about is called latency, and if you're on a PC you can use the VST Plugin Analyzer to measure it:

Thanks for the plug in analyzer, I can put that to good use.alphacat wrote:The delay you're talking about is called latency, and if you're on a PC you can use the VST Plugin Analyzer to measure it:

Anyway, I figured out the compressor causes a delay of around 1.45 ms by entering number going up until the phasing went away.
