how to make sizzle out bit crush effect

Post by Cloudx0 » Thu Jan 19, 2012 2:37 am

Thats how i describe it anyway. I cant find a tutorial on this because i dont really know what its called, but i THINK its a bit crush(redux) with a high pass filter. No idea though. I would love to use it in a track i have going, can anyone help me out?

Its in this song - Xilent - Skyward http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOf7303SPmM

I believe its a pretty common trick, used in multiple productions. Sounds like the bass just sizzles out.

Thanks much!

i'm not sure which bit you mean? theres some white noise whooshes, and the bass slows down to a stop. theres also a high pitched trill noise which is just a square lfo assigned to pitch or volume. then it drops and theres a bass note, which sounds like its been slowed down again? if thats the part you mean then i don't know... but i'm guessing its some filtered harmonics of a lower frequency wave mixed with a higher frequency bass note. thats my best guess anyway, i'm gonna try and make one.

i apologize for not posting this in the right section, i re-posted in "how to make this sound"

Well I also noticed the effect is used in guess i got my swagga back- datsik excision; so I'm referring to slowing down of the bass. Like it just slows into a clipping sound. Xilent uses a bit crush sound on top of it, but really its just that slow down sound im looking for. I havent been able to replicate it.
