I have a thread here discussing the track, and offering you the chance to remix it, more details in thread! See what you can come up with!

FM8 sounds great but a fucking nightmare to program, absolutely detest the interface so meh to FM8 and operator still wins.

the above is correct though, if you know synthesis then you can take whatever simple synth and get good sounds out of it.

I second this.

Try Zebralette if you want to know how zebra 2 feels.

also, yes FM8 is capable of so much only to be crippled by the retarded interface :(
I usually just find a preset that's close to what I'm after and then tweak it until it's right. I find it impossible to get what I want when I start from scratch on FM8.
heres some of that wobbly techno and them drums those kids seem to be into these days...

all my synth work starts from scratch unless its a patch i've already made in another project so fuck dealing with a synth that i hate programming. if i can't get the sound of operator chucking a couple or more in an instrument rack usually gets the job done. there are some sounds like detuned saw based sounds where i go for dune cos it's very quick to program those types of sound in there.

Fm8 interface is easier than folding a peice of paper . And it's a alien bro monstergrowl machine. It also makes lovely pads.

lol ^

@op, do not be mislead with massive, it's great but far overused. everyone and their mums have massive, you should get some synth like alchemy, albino, z3ta (if you are on pc), or absynth. maaaany other great synths out there but if you want massive go ahead and get it.

Everyone and their mums has those synths too. Maybe you should try Electrax, that doesn't seem to be as rinsed. But in the end, it's not the synth, but how you use it.
