Aye.
I have four choices in mind for a cheap pair of studio monitor headphones, as i want to take my production to a higher level that cant be achieved using my IEMs. Im also strapped for cash so my choices are very low-range cheap ones.
Any experiences and recommendations welcome:
-AudioTechnica ATH-M40FS
-Sony MDR V150
-Beyerdynamic DT235
-Shure SRH240-A
Cheers

I have the SRH 440s and they are wonderful. A step up from the 240s, I can't really compare the two but I love my cans.
There's a really good review on Sound on Sound somewhere, search their website for the SRH 240s and you should find it.

I have the 440's as well as the 940's. The 440's are pretty decent, but I don't use them for production, but rather just plain listening. OP, if it's within your budget, the 440's are a pretty good option.

in the future, you might want to replace the ear pads, though...they don't fit so well on the 440's but you can get replacement pads for the 940's and stick them on the 440's and they will be freaking comfortable.

Sorry, but has anyone else noticed there are like 10 of these exact same threads asking about studio headphones on the production forum in the last week or so?

No one answered me this question in the other thread about studio headphones, so I'll try again. Is AERIAL7 TANK any good for producing if the budget says a 100$?

Yes, but no. The MK II is a remade version with the same specs and a $100 price boost. I'd go with the k240 studios. I'm telling you man, these are clean as fuck. You're never going to hear sub bass incredibly clearly in your headphones mix, but you can hear it enough to get the level right and IMO subs can be mixed under anything by the numbers. (some of you will get after me as i constantly read we should never mix by numbers....i find it effective for subs)
