Where can I get a free Classic Reggae / dub guitar VST / pat
Does anyone know how I can get a free VST or know how to make a massive patch to create that classic reggae skank guitar? IT's a classic sound and is used in loads of Dub/reggae and I really want to try and incorporate it in my tracks. Any ideas?
A little taste of what i want a similar sound of:

I've tried a piano patch with some effects, doesn't quite match what i want.

If you listen to lots of dub you'll notice that sometimes the sound is a piano and sometimes a guitar.
the way I've achieved a similar sound before is to put a band pass filter and reverb onto samples of a standard piano or classic/acoustic guitar.
Start with some stock samples of both instruments and then filter off the low and high ends with the bandpass filter. Next pass the whole signal through a delay unit with a very short echo time. Finally, chuck a large sounding reverb on top!

And sometimes it's an organ sound.
If you got sample packs with your daw see if there are some guitar parts, you might be able to chop a chord skank out of one them!

It might be difficult to get the sound spot on because each tune ever made with some kind of skanky section to it uses different instruments. Each instrument in each tune sounds different from the others.
In other words, use what you've got and tweak it best you can or go out and record a real guitarist. If you're using piano or guitar samples, try using a compressor to change the attack portion of the samples to become more clicky and guitar like. Then use the eq and reverb as mentioned.
If you're set on finding a VST, 4Front make some good free piano and bass emulators. You might also try searching the plugin database on KVRaudio.com?

In my dubs I just sample the guitar / organ in another dub song, mix it a little and play it in kontakt, worked on three songs, same with the bass.

I'd recommend finding some samples, a synth will always sound kindof like a synth, so if you want guitar use a guitar. Loopmasters got plenty of free demosamples from their packs, a lot of which is reggae and dub.
Burial isnt dubstep, fuck off.

I just did this today in a tune! I used a guitar(recording of my friend playing guitar, best way to go for getting a realistic guitar sound
) and this organ VSTI : http://audiosoftplanet.com/emily-vsti.htm
Record it if you can, get someone else's recording(check out freesound.org, first place to go for free samples for me), or use a vsti(either synthesis or sample-based).

Some of those sound pretty good, with some processing they could work very well.
