@Cosmic Surgeon: I'm not quite familiar with that style, but I certainly can appreciate that when the sub hits, it's awesome. The sense of space is pretty seamless, something I myself I think need to work on. There is a consistent 'tension' and I'm not sure if I like it or not...I can totally dig the production though, good job.

@Daftendirekt: I'm pretty sure your production is pretty well polished at the moment. I can't seem to find much to critique. I enjoyed this a lot!

@resik21: I really like your drums. The beat is cool. The synths/bass...need work. There is a lot of interest/novelty to be desired...The drums seem to barely keep the track alive...for me anyways..

@teejayam: I love this track! My only comment is that the vocals seem to take up a lot of space and doesn't let the bass breathe much...also that melody sits to forward in the mix imo

@Dub Mikey: I like the tone of the mid bass. It's also got a good presence in the mix. I do however think it's a bit boring by the time the first 8 bars are over...perhaps another bass tone for some call/response? Maybe not, and that's an artistic choice, however I do think that the tension before the drop with the bass being high passed spoils any impact of the novelty of the sound. Most of the novelty in the track is the rhythm between your bass and drums. If that's the case, IMO, two sections is enough.

@naroja: I'm not sure how much I can give you on the first one, as I'd like to see it in more context. The idea overall lends itself to a very eerie/tense atmosphere. I would just use the entire thing as a High passed atmospheric layer on another track. If there are drums, I can't really hear them :/...Again I'm sure there is a lot more to come with that one..
The second track has an AWESOME intro. I love that 'break' sound that comes before that vocal sample. The snare is SICK. Again, eerie and dark. Really like where this one is headed. A bit "broken" for me in the second section, but that's just me.

Pre-mixdown. And yea, the vocal needs A LOT of work...Thanks all :)

Hi i never posted yet in the wip/unfinised tunes but i do need some feedback from times to times :) and it seems there is a lot of experimentation going here so here are my feed back!

@Tge:Nice ambient track!Deep vibes i love it!That tune is minimalist but it is sufficient to apreciate it.Maybe just a little melody from times to times to complete the mood...like a sample or something like that.

@DubMikey:Nice intro, imho the wooble need more tone change to keep it interesting.Perhaps you could put a melody with it to complete it.

@Naroja:2nd track:Nice mood on the track, drum definitely are too low, imho breaks lack a bit of rythm. Some synth need to be beef up a little too.
1st track:I like the epic feel it has to hit,but definitely need to see what is coming next to really judge it.And drums are too low too.

@Toolman:Nice lead intro synth i really like it!The half time build up firstly sounds strange to me but he is in the same mood of the tune so it's ok.Nice synth choice for the drop, and i really like the half time feel of the tune. The vocals are dope i can't wai to hear how they're gonna sound when you will have finish to polish them.

I really struggle with this one and definitely need more change in the second drop, the reese drives me a bit crazy too :)

@toolman really nice melody you have going there on the synth, good job on matching up the drums. wobble is a bit overpowering though.

@kasshern i like your hi-hats, reminds me of good death metal double kick :)

@naroja digging the second one. has a big robots marching vibe. i would say work on mixing for your two tracks but i'm sure those are just beginnings as you stated.

track is in my sig, just updated. about 2 1/2 minutes long now. i plan to hit the 4 minute mark then go through the track a 2nd time adding more melodies, more syncopation and some more sound fx. lemme know what you guys think!

hey spaceman...Provide feedback to earn feedback my friend. At least 3 people, and make it worth yours and theirs time.

Naroja: I'd love to hear some bigger more solid chunks of midrange bass around the drop. This kind of song is just begging for that.
Toolman4: amazing I love it so cool
difference: try passing the melody around to a few other parts. I think that would sound awesome.

So my w.i.p. is so far from dubstep its unbelievable. Its an indie song I did for a friend. She was really nervous while we where recording, so I will probably get her to re-record the vocals. I tried to lean more on elements I knew she liked, so a lot of the stuff in this song is kinda different than anything I'd done before. I hope somebody else on here has some experience with this style and can give me some pointers. :D

This was my first non-E.D.M. song btw.

Also @ Kres- that is way better than any beat i could make up when I was a noob.

You know how little I knew starting off? I started with Sibelius and a minimoog plugin, and that was it.

I thought that was all I needed!

Man, I made some bad 8-bit songs.

lmfao wait I found some haha

hahaha that is in no way a w.i.p. not asking for feedback, just reminiscing about being a noob.

@dogmancar: Raise the drums or lower the piano; the former feels a little drowned out, even though a strong piano is desirable. Were the drums recorded on separate tracks, or just one track? If possible, get a bit more punch on them, and a fair bit of reverb as well, so it sounds like its huge and surrounding -- like you've done with her voice. I like the track, oddly. It feels a little post-rockish, like Mew or Rururu. Additionally, the sections with piano and drums could use another instrument. Even if it's just a bass holding chords, I think it would give something else to focus on, as the piano feels like it's just keeping rhythm, although that's what I expect of the drums... Something above (or below) that could clear up some tension.

@spaceman: I like the vibe. Feels kind of old-world, but made with modern hands. There's a bit of space about the track; for that, I think you should have a drone, or a pad in the background, just to fill in some areas. Or, add varied, incidental percussion here and there, for contrast.

@difference: There's this hollow-ish sound that I think you should add to the song; it's kind of like tapping on a boat hull underwater. It's similar to the sound at about 23 seconds here I get the feeling that would fit in nicely, as part of the additional sound fx you mentioned. Speaking of, I think some of the quieter sections should have something to connect them. Your song reminds me of this one in that regard. The moment at 2:10 - 2:14, to be exact. Even though the bass hits are distinct, the background effects continue. At least, that's what I think would help improve the track, as it sounds nice so far. Cheers!

@Kasshern: That sounds nearly complete! One thing that kind of bugs me is how... dry? your reese sounds. There's a tonne of top end, which is always a plus, but I think some kind of movement in that region would help. Or maybe there should be a bit of attenuation, and a boost in the midrange, for clarity. Or both. I feel that a lot has been done to shape the sound, including a lot of good work in the midrange movement, but that top seems just a tad distracting. Concerning the second drop, why not add a bar of silence, for contrast against the spoken sample? So then that anticipation rises, and then the drop is a release from that. Or slowly lower the volume, so that the listener almost has to lean in to hear better, and then the drop slams with a perceived higher impact. That sort of thing.

All said, this is recent. If you have any feedback, no matter how critical, please share.

Kasshern & Toolman4: Thanks for the Advice :D I will try to get the drums a bit stronger in each track, and maybe incorporate some pads or higher freq items into the second.

difference: Thanks :D Not a bad idea! I may try doing this, but I'm almost thinking of finishing the 'robotic' one by itself then trying something different for the other.

-----------------

Toolman4: Nice track! Love the hard hitting bass!!! I think (especially in the intro) it could use a powerful pad on top of that other synth that's there, or maybe soften the other synth a bit.

Kasshern: Great track man, I think it needs a bit more nastiness in there (something with a high cuttoff & high res, but still grungy) to give it a bit more punch. But I really like this one, awesome work so far, keep it up!

spaceman: not too bad, I like the choir vocals, maybe add some more short cut ones if that's where you want to go with it.

kikaruu: The Bass on there sounds a big muddled, I seem to run into this a lot when over-processing or putting effects on the parts that should be mono. Not sure what's causing it in your case, but I'd maybe check it out. Other than that, I love the movement & rhythm you've got in this track. Also the drops are cool! :)

dogmancar: More midrange bass before the drop, or for the whole track? Maybe I should boost what's already there with good EQ'ing ?
On your track, love the vocals and the vibe! The only critique I have is the piano seems like something I've heard before... At first I thought it may be a remix of something. But it sounds origional, has a chill vibe, and sounds nice :) Also I like the vocals, I think they work, probably even without being re-recorded. :D Would love to hear the percussion boosted up a bit more :)

@Spaceman Really really good. I like the flow of the tune. I like the way the sub bass is arranged.

@Kasshern That drop was huge. That sound is perfect for that drop. maybe mess with the snare a little but that is just my rookie opinion.

@Toolman I cant wait to hear it when its finished. That main sound is so weird haha. The vocals sound too plain or untouched for that song.

haha sorry I meant like the melody that the flute is playing. Try that melody on other instruments and see how it works out.

Idk maybe that's not the best tip but if it where me I'd at least give it a shot.

@kikaruu: great job man, verry impressive. really love the sound of the drums, natural.

@hobgoblin: the intro is great, catchy and all. this might just be my shit earphones at work but your drums seem a bit quiet. but soundind good so far.

@Gaol: nice. i know its a wip but i think you could tighten up your structure a bit, its a bit random atm. sounding good tho just needs a bit of work, intro, breakdown etc.

any feed back would be appreciated.

@travis baker - i like the panning in the intro, the spacey effects sound cool, messin around with some funky dubby chords with that shit and some auto filtering could sound badass man. i like that snare too. it needs much more automation and shit going on. how did you get that kick? build it yourself or is it just a sample? I'm think this could be shit hot with lotsa changes going on with some dubby lead and chords!

@gaol - i agree with travis, it seems like lots of good ideas but just happening a bit at random! you could get some variation in on the hats there too! and get some more low end in the kick drum? have you limited it pretty hard too?

@kikaruu - that's heavy man, i like the bass in the second half of that bars in the first half! sounds funky and heavy, you could get a clap in there somewhere with that snare to get it sounding a bit nicer maybe? and a longer reverb for it maybe?

here's the culmination of a few very stoned nights, not sure i'd show it too anyone i knew though! it's not been 'mastered' very well! And it's not actually dubstep, but you guys usually have something interesting to say regardless!

Hi
@naroja: first : i like what you started but im not a fan of your highhats.
second: a very interesting tune. sound like its falling apart

@toolman4: I really like the sound of your bass. And the vocals are nice.

@Kasshern: Lead synth sound is awesome. the second drop is a little odd. I think it needs a little space. the message from the vocal is not coming through becouse you twist the end. if i were you i would drop that pitching and just play a little silence after the "perhaps you" thing. that would make it more powerful and energetic i think.

@difference: deep meditation. that is all i can say.

@spaceman : a bit empty?

@dogmancar : sounds too lifeless. the talent is good. but another take wouldn't hurt. where did you record that? i dont like the reverb on your vocals. it sounds drowned. the track is good but it need more takes.and maybe a better recording place. and there are some uhm sounds (3:08,1:48 etc)

@kikaruu : That is a monster track

@hobgoblin: drums are too quiet. but i like what you did here.

@gaol : sick tune

@unitedfruits That is a good track. lots of energy.

Here is my track.

Bro, come on.. you gotta leave feedback to get feedback and dropping 5 WIPs there is just RUDE.

Toolman4
Lots of nice clean sounds punching through the mix in the intro. Some parts could pos use a touch of reverb but its good. The drop is good, the bass punches through nicely. Its busy but not confused. I like!

Kasshern
I really like your reece work here, nice work! The high part really works with it as well. Digging this (y)

difference
Fuck thats deep. Really liking that, so chilled!

kikaruu
the kick is a little hollow. not sure if thats intended. If it was more punchy i think it'd really push the bassline (which is great btw).

Gaol
sounding good, not sure what the part where it drops to just pure sub is about, that confused me a little ha.

My new WIP. A 174 Drumstep remix / re-edit of that fucking Avicii track... Second half is gonna be wildly different with a large tempo change! Would love thoughts thus far, is totally unmixed atm, very little / no processing / EQ.
