I love Logic immensely and wouldn't give it up for anything, but if I could improve it, it would go something like this:

1) Have a better piano roll, like Ableton's (Ableton has an amazing piano roll)
2) Have support for VSTS instead of just AUs, although it's not a huge deal
3) Be fully customizable, like Reaper. It's not that big of a deal (I don't understand why people think that's soooo cool that you can customize reaper, but it would be something thats kind of fun.

it not about making Reaper more fun
customizing a workspace to suite your needs is what it`s about

What can you customize that makes it so much more useful for user-specific needs?

colors
layout
shortcut keys
themes etc.

all is geared toward improving workflow by putting your most used commands and workspaces at your finger tips.
separate layouts for tracking, recording, midi, etc. all configurable.
etc. etc.
anything you can think of can be written into a JS script

But you have to know how to code then right?

Also, I can see how layout and shortcuts could be helpful

Colors and themes? Naahhh

the Reaper forum is chokka-block full of JS coders.
just go there and ask for a feature and they code it in a day or 2.
colors and themes are a very important part of making a DAW useable for a long period.
easier on the eyes, specific colors for specific needs, etc.
it`s like learning with color, your brain responds better to color than grey or black

not to mention the many mouse modifiers, general usage modifiers , etc.
you can literally theme Reaper to look like Cubase, Ableton, Logic, etc. which for some makes the transition to Reaper much easier

I use Logic and although the MIDI side of things is really good the audio workflow is probably the worse of all DAW's. they should just copy Pro Tools and have all the editing in the arrange window and have a smart tool instead of all that right clicking to change tools.

I also use Reason and i think it's lacking a good compressor and again the audio editing can be improved a bit more. they should integrate Recycle into Reason.

i've got Pro Tools but it doesn't work on my new mac and refuse to pay their upgrade price. so i wish that had a decent price tag and 64bit.

i think Reason 6 did basically just that.
but no new compressor
Scream4 tape setting (parameter 2 = comp) is the best compressor Reason has to offer ...

Logic:
step sequencer like FL
FL's piano roll
Change the browse section, it's awful. Stopped using it the day I got it, kind of annoying having to tab back and forth to my sample folder

Being able to just toss some drums/hats onto the step sequencer and scroll through my samples to see how everything sounded together without having to go back into the esx24 everytime would make my life a lot easier. Oh

Studio One has the best piano roll, but that Grey/Dark Blue layout kills your eyes after hours of work.

There is the channel comp on the new 'ssl' desk now which is much better.

I also wish logic had an audio warp tool like Abletons. I know they have the flex tool, but it just doesn't do it for me
