Absolutely, except for the fact that it really doesn't make you high, other than possibly a short stint of light headedness if you don't smoke often, which is what I meant when I implied I don't do anything hardcore. Obviously I know nicotine is one of the most addictive and lethal drugs in large doses. And it does seem a bit arbitrary, but I don't know many people who do coke cuz they like the way it smell, but I know plenty of people who drink wine or other forms of alcohol strictly for the taste and not to get drunk.

At the moment, nothing. No alcohol/weed since new year, nicotine it'll be 2yrs since my last cigarette in May, and after an unfortunate insomnia issue owing to an energy drink at the weekend, I'm off caffeine for this week at least.


The alcohol was probably the hardest for me to stop drinking, not because I had a drinking problem and was hammering wine every night of the week, but just because I was finding myself in lots of social situation (clubs/parties/watching the football) where having a pint was what I'd always done.

It's not for health reasons or anything - it's a combination of wanting to save money (which I have done like a fucking boss since I stopped drinking) and getting my abs beach ready for the summer festivals

I'm not sold on this one. Theres lots of speculation about DMT, but little facts to back it up. I've tried it, and it was way beyond anything i've experienced. Part of it was awe inspiring, part of it was terrifying. Hard to put into words, seriously powerful stuff. From what i've read tho, DMT is one of the safest drugs. It gets metabolized within minutes. The only problem i could think of is that its so intense that it may harm people who already have mental health problems.


About this discussion - if i ruled the world i'd legalize most drugs. I don't think drugs are to blame for anything, if you use them responsibly. Its the people who become addicts and commit crimes who are the problem, not the drugs. Same with alcoholics, do you blame alcohol or the irresponsible adult?

Theres also definite benefits to recreational use imo. After a bit of weed i feel more creative, i get more music in my head. But if i smoke too much then i can't focus, so its a trade off. I think its like everything in life, moderation is the key.

And i don't think all drugs should be legal. Stuff like herion, crack, crystal meth are pretty harmful. I've never tried any of them and i don't intend to.

Salvia is legal in the UK, which is pretty surprising. Heres a vid of the very real dangers of salvia, this is pretty funny!

About the safeness of hallucinogenics, I do agree BUT all of them can bring a perception change to your life the first time you try them. You will become different (which can be for the better and for the worse). So, it's safe of side-effects, but some side-effects are not documented

plenty people are fine from it but i personally can't handle seratonin level instability
The peaks are great, but for me the valleys are a stones throw from a suicide attempt

thanks, that looks interesting.. i just worry, it says well, it can cause high blood pressure unless you take it with this, and so on... and i feel like i'm clicking an endless link of supplements and side effects and just getting more worried. but then again it is wikipedia, and the 5-htp sounds promising so i'll see what the pharmacist has to say about it
