My cousin worked for some years as a drug councillor in Belmarsh Prison down in London and he said he notices a lot of younger people get into a bit of a pseudo-alpha phase with drugs, where it's all about who can chin the most. Just kids stuff, they'll grow out of it when they realise it's not about who's got the biggest... but about having a good time.

I never had any comedown off Mephedrone. I thought that was the appeal of it? Short lasting, little after-effects, cheap as fuck, high purity (Well when it was legal).

Occasionally I'd feel spaced out the next day if I over did it. But generally felt it was a really easy, safe high, with the main side-effect being acting a bit of a dickhead. And that was from caining it near enough every weekend from late '09 to '10. All the media hysteria over it was mostly bollocks.

Only problems I knew of in real life were from lads that'd do 3 day benders, just because of the legality.

Seriously, Mephedrone is extremely forgiving compared to near enough every other stimulant. They didn't actually proof any reported death to it in the end, instead a ban was rushed through before any scientific evidence was conducted. Pathetic.

I think the bad reputation stems again from the 'macho' culture of lads, that'd go on benders and push it to the limits just so they could moan about it at work the next week.

To be honest with you I've been around mephedrone a lot (it's chronic in Blackpool where I'm originally from) and I think there's a lotta negative aspects of it. The tendency to binge is one of them, but largely I find it's a very ego-centric experience and makes people quite selfish. You ever been around at 7am when people are buying more in, squabbling over who's got what? Pretty depressing sometimes imo.

Also it's worth bearing in mind the long-term effects still aren't known. However this is also true of MDMA (though MDMA has been researched further than mephedrone has, also worth bearing in mind) in which there is currently evidence supporting both the claim that it causes axonal damage in the brain and also that it doesn't.

i think to a certain degree it was a good idea, sure its down to the individual, but because it has such a short high it just makes you want more, and if you've got a slight tendacy for addiction then you can find yourself on shit street fairly quickly.

It's moreish but not fiendishly so. You don't get instantly hooked and end up doing anything for more, just requires a bit of self-restraint and realise when enough is enough and its time for bed.

Like I said used it very regularly over about a 10 month period. Had no problem stopping when I was bored of it, just the initial adjustment of getting back to less eventful night outs. Only noticeable impact was weight loss.

I just think if people treated substances such as cocaine, ketamine, MPDV or even MDMA in similar quantities as they did Mephedrone, there'd have been a lot more problems. The only major issues came from a lack of education and knowledge.

I agree after the initial high wears off the need to redose was quite pronounced, but not desperately so. I honestly think if it wasn't in as much abundance for so little money, plus the novelty factor of it being a new drug, then it wouldn't have been abused so heavily by many.

It's just annoying seeing it pained as some sort of 'devil' drug, when in reality it could be a fairly sociable safe alternative to alcohol.

mdma is usually not as fine of a powder
the taste.. i guess you'd just have taste them both and once you do it's easy to differ

edit - i guess the size thing is off. the only time i'm used to seeing coke is when it's been crushed up
so yeah, taste, and ya just kinda have to know

I find MDMA smells faintly of sarsaparilla. It ought to come in crystal form, and might be brown, white, or pinkish depending on the process used to synthesise it (resulting in contaminants, if it's chemically pure it'll be clear, but I've never seen MD that good). Don't buy from strangers, buy only from people who's gear you or your friends are familiar with. Seen too many write offs in the dance from naughty tackle!
