What are stems?

Post by Projekt N » Thu Jan 26, 2012 1:43 pm

Hi, I know this is a really amateur question. I probably know what it is, I've just never heard the terminology before. What is a stem file? I want to know because I asked my friend if he would like to remix one of my songs and he said he would need the stem files, I asked him what they were and he told me to google it but I said why don't you just tell me? And he decided to be a jerk about it so I guess I'm asking here. >.< sorry for the noob question
