Re: Ableton Operator vs Massive
Honestly each has their strong points and their methods to achieving them. Massive takes like 2 seconds to whip up any kind of quick bass, so it's good for quickly getting ideas out, and if you spend some time tweaking it, you can do whatever you want with it. It's the synth that's easiest to automate. FM8 is a god among men. Seriously, if you know anything about FM synthesis easy shit. Absynth sounds really great too, but i haven't really dove into it.
If you want a super versatile synth, get reaktor. Haha, Komplete has turned me into a native-instruments salesmen.

massive is a combination of wavetable, subtractive and phase modulation synthesis.RandoRando wrote:how do you figure, im not including the FM knob in the modulation section.Volatile Psycle wrote:Technically it isn'tRandoRando wrote:Massive is subtractive.
Re: Ableton Operator vs Massive
bc it mostly works with wave tables

Another bundle of synths to consider is fxpansion's dcam synth squad. The last time it was on sale it was $99.

						Re: Ableton Operator vs Massive
are synthsquad that interesting, demos make em sound like very rubbish tools

Re: Ableton Operator vs Massive
sound wise i liked them, i generally don't look at the demos but just jump in and program a patch from scratch.

Re: Ableton Operator vs Massive
I like massive, but i'll always bounce it down and do a little resampling if its needed... I dont know if its because ive been using massive longer than i've been using Ableton, but i'd prefer massive as its easier to use.. for me atleast.
