Wiley John: dark/weird London inspired beats

Post by wileyjohn » Sun Jan 29, 2012 4:09 am

i've mostly just crept around these forums gathering zomby/d1/mystikz dubs and such, but i thought i'd give a little something back today. i've been exploring a grainy type aesthetic by reintegrating my somewhat run-down samplers/hardware into my production. any feedback would be great- the more honest the better

oh yeah, one other thing. i want to change my name- it's an old friend's nickname and i used the current spelling to acknowledge the eskibeat godfather but i don't thnk i deserve it. what do you think of the name Mulder? or dreadful john?

i appreciate the look, thanks for check ing in

I like the tunes. Don't know if I would consider them grime or eskibeat but they got a nice own sound/flavor to them. I'd add a little more variation or more instruments tho', unless you're gonna have someone spit/sing over them

yeah i wasn't sure what to label em as. i edited the thread title to make it a little more appropriate (i think?). thank you for the feedback, doubt i'd get vocals unless that was my intention with a tune from the start, so i'm going to keep your comment in mind for future productions or if i rework these. and thanks chili99, i think that that bit is one of my favorites as well
