Hello Everyone!
So My friend wants me and another one of our friends to dj at his apartment party saturday (Probably should be 75-100 people or so...nothing huge persay)
The problem is he doesn't have a speaker system of any sort. I've got KRK 8s, he's got a sub, but I'm a bit worried about blowing them out.
Should I be though? Not like I'll be running them in the red, and I'm fairly certain they'd be loud enough for a 500ish sq foot room.
Thoughts?

As a uni student I don't have nearly enough bills to throw down on renting a PA/Deposit

If theres 75+ people going. Just ask the guy who's party it is to get a dollar from everyone that come.
Also 75-100 people in an apartment is quite a large party/amount of people to get into an apartment.

i was thinking the same thing , how the hell are you going to get a 100 people in an apartment? must be a huge apartment.
I don't know were you live but here in Belgium you can rent PA & all sorts of equipment from the city ( youth department if your under a certain age. it's 25 here) for around 15-30 euro's a day. Might want to look into that?.
my latest wip

this.
we did this last year, open air at a lake and without charging any entry. instead we sold beer for 1€/bottle, ended up with maybe 20€ profit but it covered everything including:
- 250€ rental for PA
- 50€ rental for generator
- about 50 bucks for gasoline for generator and cars
- snacks, beer n weed
beware tho, shit's mad illegal.

def get a PA man.
not only will your monitors probably get ruined from either pushing them too hard or drunk people knocking them, but they won't be loud enough. my friend DJ'd a house party with his krk rp6's in a basement with only like 25 people (there were more people up stairs but...) and it wasn't near loud enough.
