What song does Mt Eden sample? Need it 4 a JOKE
Re: What song does Mt Eden sample? Need it 4 a JOKE
To anyone who likes Mt Eden: you don't have to join this forum and explain anything. It's a matter of opinion.
Although I think that anyone who is a 'fan' of Mt Eden now, will realise later on that Sierra Leone is not exactly
great production.
I'm not even hating, but I never heard any other tunes by him... somehow I just don't want to. So I'm forming my
opinion on that one track.

Hey, I'd appreciate it if you didn't use "cigarette" in that context. It's insulting to people like memrdii wrote:I don't understand why Mt Eden get SO much hate on here.
Even I have started a thread in my time claiming how people like Mt Eden are using "shortcuts" to gain more fans in a way. But mainly they're still very small. Ok - they have some great Youtube views - but ultimately it don't mean jack. There's top producers in some genre's who don't have any videos alone on youtube and yet they're 10X more successful than Mt Eden.
It says alot when they're flogging generic t-shirts to raise funds. Even though they've got mad exposure - nearly 100% of their tunes are sampled so can't be sold right now...
I doubt they even make much of sets and stuff because most dubstep people disown them immediately.
Personally I'm not a huge fan. However, if I want to chill out then I may listen to 1 or 2 of their tunes in a short dose through some cheap headphones as they're not as bad as most make out. Granted, there's hundreds of people in the "dubs" section whose original tunes will go un-noticed, but at the same time there's hundreds of producers worse than Mt Eden who rape samples going un-noticed. Mt Eden where original in a sense of adapting samples before all the other producers jumped on it. Hell I even heard a "peckham terminator" dubstep remix which wasn't pleasing.
Also, if cigarette indie kids are attracted to them I doubt it's their own fault. Mt Eden don't really have some homo image they sell to these idiots so I guess it's just bad luck on their behalf. This isn't lyrical music so they can't really control their fanbase to the same extent as a singer...
There's plenty enough hate to go around here without gay bashing going on too.
If this is the future, it seems highly livable: shiny, cool and comfortably dissonant. Like a low dose of ketamine in an empty, luminous airport hall in northern Japan, eating avocado and waiting for the universe to arrive.

This thread makes no sense whatsoever. It is amusing but I'm very confused. I thought everyone decided a long time ago that Mt. Eden were terrible and we'd all moved on?

All that melts away when the lights are down and the bass is up.
