If genres stuck to the country of origin music wouldn't be anything like it is today. All this bitterness towards the yanks is mainly to do with the English anyway, its English fans who claim to be big dubstep fans but really just listen to the US stuff and have no idea about its history or the proper UK dubstep scene. If nobody here listened to the US stuff we wouldn't be so hateful towards it.

I didnt say I hate music from other countries.. I mean knowing that its homegrown straight from where it first began is a bonus... like pedigree, fresh from the source... most of the stuff im listening to right now is from the netherlands.

its not about where it is, its about where its at.
by defeniton, cutting edge music will always be changing regardless of its roots. what usualy happens is that a fresh sound emerges and most people think its shit untill a few years down the line when it gets more popular, but by that time, the sound is no longer fresh and theres a new sound comming up.
ive seen this happen for years, it goes in cycles. theres a new sound that starts life dark and mysterious and has a very tightly knit scene and then, a few years down the line, the sound gets big but generic and light. the inovators either sell out or push the sound back underground with a new twist, usually meaning putting the dark vibes back in, and there we start the cycle again.
people naturaly want to be part of somthing and jump on a scene and call it their own, then all the bickering starts about origins of the music and all that bollocks. we're all indeviduals and have indervidual tastes, culture has alot to do with it. know what you like and stick to your guns, dont be swayed by public opinion.
well, what im really tring to say is,"rise above it people" stop tring to be part of somthing thats past, remember, the future is now, you are the innovators!

Just when I thought that I saw the most ridiculous post ever on this forum....(the one with the guy who thought he had made the best mix ever by listening to every release on beatport from 2007)

Good music is good music and it should not be labeled as "unlistenable" just because it didn't come from a certain area. That has to be the most illogical, close minded thing I've ever heard.

tbf fractal, american dubstep is pretty detached from the UK stuff tbh, even the harder shit. UK/European cats just have this way that most americans just dont have.
