just registered, got some good info and some great downloads for ableton
but man some of the guys over there are too ridiculously ignorant about production to be trolls
i know you have to start somewhere but comeon one guy was asking if a sample pack available for download would work in other daws just because the person who uploaded them said they were good in ableton drum rack
and in their production section iv noticed a few people just saying to come here for the production bible which seems pretty pointless
anyone else registered?

I'm registered. some people are very knowledgable, others aren't. also i noticed the forum is dead compared to here. some threads sat in the same spots for like 3 days, where around here there would be tons of activity within 3 hours. its okay for a secondary, but it certainly won't be taking dsf's place.

Yeah, I registered there. Posted a tune. Got one reply, then the thread fell into the abyss. Not much activity there for sure but the community doesn't seem that harsh. Then again, I've only posted once, and like some people on here, there are as well audio perfectionists who will rip you a new one.

yeah deffinitly, im gunna keep checking up there every now and again for sure though as everyone seems to use ableton (their pole said 90%) and with glitchhop comes mad resampling techniques and generally a whole different view on production than everyone else
The Q & A with kraddy is pretty interesting aswel

haha i think i would rather have people rip me a new one and find out what i need to work on than everyone just trying to be nice and not giving any points to work on

I'm registered under a different user name and I post somewhat regularly. I help beginners out with their tunes and synthesis questions. The bad thing is the forum is so inactive. The good thing is they are the most friendly community I've ever seen, no thread derailing with piss fests like ever. Also the design is pretty slick.

yeah i noticed that aswel, no trolling at all over there. I rekon there more valuable information over here but you have to search through a ton of stupid shit and skrillex talk.
I rekon the reason is because there no confusion over what glitchhop is in terms of a genre, where as over here the difference between the two styles classed as dubstep by uninformed people is absolutely massive which causes people to tell each other their tastes are shite.
Dont get me wrong im a massive dubstep fan and brostep fan but im kinda hoping in a way that this movement progresses to something different where the fans can just get along.

I have DSF loyalty
Haha but I did sign up for Moombahton forum! Now that's an inactive forum. There's around 40 members in all and around 35 posts overall in the entire forum. Sort of depressing.

yeah if it's a sample pack, I would assume it's in .wav files, which would work on any DAW (as far as I know). It's probably a project template or something.

aaaactually guys, tbf there are VST -specific sample packs, such as those that only work on Kontakt which are .nki or summin, and others for other VSTs. not really DAW - specific but you cant just throw em into drum rack and play. i'm pretty sure there are programs that convert all these file types to .wav format. so it is a fair enough question. best answer: stick to .wav packs or find a ".xxx to .wav converter" unless you have the VST in question.
Edit: It slipped my mind earlier but there are indeed DAW- exclusive sample packs. For Reason, they are called 'refills' and for fruity loops something else. I personally use Ableton, which uses standard .wav, .mp3, etc. I believe generally if it works on Ableton, it works in any DAW.
