Re: Advancing your music in 2012
i know right, i mean just how useful could it be anyway i mean i know it might motivate you to start on your next track and teach you how to make a couple synths you havnt made before but you can probably find out for free on dsf by just asking if you really wanted to make that sound in the first place...well...maybe not these days but stilllloydy wrote:That is really expensive, you better be walking out with a record deal for that.JTMMusicuk wrote:£140 quid, damn
Re: Advancing your music in 2012
I'm pretty sure they are probably just trying to coin in on the whole household studio scene,i mean there is a lot of people going to these type of events in the hope that it will up their production level when in theory search the net properly and all the info is out there anyway its just a matter finding it and using it.Also finding your own sound is what makes you unique, skrillex blew up because he didn't sound like everyone else.If you go on ukf on youtube how many of their tracks actually sound really similar with the sound design?JTMMusicuk wrote:i know right, i mean just how useful could it be anyway i mean i know it might motivate you to start on your next track and teach you how to make a couple synths you havnt made before but you can probably find out for free on dsf by just asking if you really wanted to make that sound in the first place...well...maybe not these days but stilllloydy wrote:That is really expensive, you better be walking out with a record deal for that.JTMMusicuk wrote:£140 quid, damn
Just like to point out i'm not a skrillex fan,the guys sound design is the shit but i prefer my darker harder music,i was using him as an example because some people round here want to sound like him
Re: Advancing your music in 2012
Also like to point out if i went to one of these paid 140 and only come away with a few techniques for sounding like mainstream artists i would get the proper hump.I think the marketing side of it i would like to hear about but i'm pretty sure there is books out there on the subject anyway.

its a marketing conference, not a sound design course
you won't be learning any synthesis here
the people who will go/can afford it, will get plenty out of it, too.
i don't understand the attitudes around these parts toward the industry
inexplicable spite and malice
like it or not, there is an industry around and about music
if there weren't, advanced music technologies wouldn't have been developed throughout history.

Re: Advancing your music in 2012
and how do you reckon there's a book covering marketing ideas to be discussed at an event that hasn't yet taken place?
c'mon guys
if it isn't for you, fine. no need to slag on every single post having anything to do with industry, though

Re: Advancing your music in 2012
I'm not slagging it of atal,it might be a veryvery good event. All i'm saying is if i was to pay 140 to go i would want a lot more info than you can just pull off the net or out of a book.Today wrote:and how do you reckon there's a book covering marketing ideas to be discussed at an event that hasn't yet taken place?

Re: Advancing your music in 2012
so would i... come to think of it, these things usually don't make any sense unless you're already an established label/artist
probz why the price is up there

Also the people holding the event wrote the "secrets of house music" say no more.Make really good music and you will build up a fan base no matter what because their will always be people willing to market you for you if they will earn a living.
