SPYBAR?!

lol i stopped going there a long time ago... place is awful

for those not from chicago, its a typical commercial upscale nightclub/bar in downtown and its always full of douches/bros/hos and middle aged people (at least thats my experience)

the dark tantrums track mainly :)

it was great man. I liked it a lot.

When im chilling thats what i listed to 90% of the time.

I listen to tons of jkenzo/coki/skream/distance/jakes/phaeleh/biome/etcetcetcetctype stuff that I love and listen to a lot

but i like the bro shit too im not going to lie

But UNFORTUNATELY, that darker stuff is not really an option around here to see live, would be awesome though

see id say the dark tantrums track is in my humble opinion a better form of bro....its nasty hard and filthy

I would take the time to read your arguments if you present them to me, as to why Kill The Noise is a good producer. I am not convinced. Do you mean technical ability? Perhaps he does. But what about artistic ability?
To summarise, I personally don't understand why or how he stands out, but I would like for you to share your insights.

Why do I think he is a good producer? umm because I like his music... he has put out a few great EPs and has a unique style imo obviously EVERYONE here disagrees lol

you are right, he isnt good at producing music

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EvE5njzMVII

wait... too much midrange... and i think i heard some formant filters... too skrillexy he sucks at music and no one should like him and if you do you arent cool enough for DSF
You still didn't really explain why he is a good producer..
You said because you like him.. Does this make him a good producer?
He has put out a few great EPs.. Why are they great? What you consider great might not be the same i would consider great, or anybody else.
He has an unique style.. Oké, is this the reason you think he is a great producer? Just because of the unique style?
Because that is the point, i and a lot others in here don't think he is all that unique.
You keep saying we pretty much hate to much.. But in that same way it seems you love to much, if that makes sense.
*not trying to attack you in anyway, just trying to clarifie*
umm well its subjective, are you saying he ISNT a good producer? if so I would point out that 99% of people sitting behind the computer trying to put out tracks would shit their pants if they were able to come up with tracks like that. might not be your taste but whatev

anywho...

I think his tracks are well mixed, have great basses and the drums are always fat and tight, he has a good mix of electro and dub tracks, and some funky stuff too, he is diverse.. I think he has some great bass sounds that although you may think are "rinsed garbage" i think are pretty badass.

I mean its subjective... I listen to his stuff and I think "wow this if I was ever able to put this together I would be VERY happy person" and it suits my musical tastes... hence I like his music and I think he is a good producer...
Don't ever call the music that man makes "dub" ever again.

Now that we have an RBMA representative in Chicago, big things are coming through! The Signal night at Smart Bar is having some wicked acts through in the coming months. Pearson Sound last month was huge, and Lunice is coming in March. Not quite 'dubstep' but very good bass music.

theres tearout and theres bro

and theres deep true sound rootical and theres dungeon

i dont think its as simple as youre making out

the dark tantrums tune i linked up isnt a dark tune its a tearout tune and is in my humble opinion just better in every way than the overly lfo led stuff

proper deep dubstep is better than all the km clones as well

I enjoy Kill The Noise's tunes but then again I am into all of the Brostep that most of this forum hates so what do I know. Never seen him live or heard his mixes so I can't comment on that.

yeah 100% this, i was actively involved in the metal/hardcore scene around the time they were breaking and even then anyone who had a half a clue knew that they where just a shit haircut band for teenage girls, they where never taken seriously

come on... you are telling me doctor P, Brown and Gammon, Rok Sonix, sound like Kill the noise?

yet there can be 1,000,000 "dark dub super deep dungeon vinyl cuts" of drums and distant sub bass and some random evolving element, that all sound ALMOST EXACTLY THE SAME lol

(not to say thats bad, i like it too, but come on, you have to admit, in darker stuff, a lot of it sounds very similar)

idk, to say all bro sounds the same, you could do the exact same to dark stuff (both of which I think are wrong)

No ones denying that a lot of dungeon sounds the same, and if a lot of people here went to say, a District show, they probably wouldn't object to hearing a lot of Distance and Kryptic Minds. I think the dungeon scene is getting just as samey as the bro scene, but there's far more than just dungeon and brostep.

I don't know about those other guys, but the main name you mentioned was Skrillex, saying KTN played 4 of his tunes. Having just listened to a few KTN tunes, they sound like Skrillex imitations that just aren't as well produced. That's why people are wondering why you have a problem with hearing them

I've been saying for months on end that all dungeon sounds the same. Look it up. So you can't fault me on that.
For me the difference is:
Dungeon still sounds great on a system. You would rarely catch me listening to dungeon at home. But most of those artists
produce music that still works in a live environment because it is sub heavy and has space and has a good vibe to it that is close to
what I call the vibe of standard dubstep. Coincidentally, "dungeon" sound only nights are virtually non-existent here, there's always going
to be a variety.

Both of these statements do not apply to the bro, the way I experience and see it. It's not something that doesn't work at home, but then does
work on the system for lack or difference of all three of the elements I mention. And bro nights are generally not varied at all.

Hence, my 'hostility' towards the bro and tolerance of the dungeon.

Too bad we have to speak in stereotypes, but it seems to be the only way to explain something clearly these days. At least on the internet. I'm sure we could be having a very different conversation in real life.
