fruity granulizer vst?

I don't use FL Studio anymore, but have been wanting to use the fruity granulizer which I used to love. I'm wondering if it will run as a vst in another DAW? I know some of their products and plugs will, but I'm not sure about this one.

Also, does anyone know of a plugin that is close to the fruity granulizer that will work as a vst?

No it won't, but make sure whatever you use now doesn't have something similar. It probably does somewhere, it's fairly common.

Why not just use FL as a VST inside whatever DAW you use now?

the JUICE PACK by Image-Line is a dope idea and something I need to pick up... but it doesn't looks like they included Fruity Granulizer in the plugin pack.

I've definitely thought about re-installing FL Studio to use some of the plugs, I've never been a big fan of rewiring though. I see its potential, but it's always just taken too much time to set up. If I install it again I’ll prob just bounce things in and out of it. I used to have like 4 DAW’s installed at one time…. I kind of like having just one now.

Weird.. what does the screen look like after opening FL Studio as a VST? I'm assuming it would be huge and take up most of the screen? Or does it have some kind of "wraper" that opens were you can select various plugins?

I only have one video monitor atm so I'm a little curious.

It opens a little box, and from there you can control FL and make it bigger if you need to in order to open stuff, then close FL which shrinks it back down to small size and forget about it. It seems great on memory/CPU and stable, no issues in Cubase and I know it works fine in Reaper too. If you already own it, it's better than spending more on the Juice Pack which is pretty limited by comparison.

I got one more question (kind of a stupid one). What's the differance between "granular synthesis and granular resynthesis"? Some granular plugs say synthesis and some say resynthesis.

From what I remember, basically resynthesis employs additive synthesis to create new harmonic content. When used with a granular synth, it breaks the sound down into grains and uses an algorithm to resynthesize each grain with new harmonic content. The way it's done varies surely, whether it only uses sine waves to make new harmonics or if there's noise generators or filters or whatever else the particular plugin might have.
