Bump, just because.

Also, after really listening to this tune, this one is nuts. Really though, this is one of the largest free dubs this year, also, it's very unique in the patterns and overall structure of the tune.

a lot of the time producers give away tunes that aren't their best, and might not see a release because they aren't their best, i think that's why they just get flinged out for free. but this is actually a fucking weighty tune.

just seen Goth-Trad playing this live, this could have seen a release IMO. One thing I will say, wish Dem A Talk would come out digitally though for us CD heads : (

Damn I wish Dem A Talk would get a release. I don't care what format.

^^ forthcoming 12" 8)

likely a white label, probably similar treatment to TMSV version

Hmm, I feel like I remember hearing that somewhere as well. While on the subject of white labels. Can someone please fill me in as to what exactly a 'white label' is? Just started collecting vinyls, actually I even have a white label - Eyez VIP - but I really have no fucking clue what the difference is between a white label and a normal release.

Compa - Dem A Talk is forthcoming limited 12" White Label. A white label is one of two things:

- You can't sell a tune commercially via a label if the tune contains stolen samples or vocals. ie. Coki - Burnin' - The Burnin' vocal is a stolen acapella. Richie Spice would have been able to sue if the record came out commercially on a label, but a white label can't be proven as to who pressed the tune, where it was pressed, who is distributing it etc.

- Or, Some people use white labels for promo's or one-off short runs of presses for a tune ie. Eyez Vip.

Hope that helps.

Surely if the white label is sold on the internet though, eg. chemical, they would take the hit for selling a record with an unlicensed sample?

Mala - Alicia, Coki - Burnin', Mala - In Luv, Coki - Gangsta For Live etc. All illegal white labels, with unlicensed samples. All sold via Chemical and many other record shops worldwide.

As far as i've heard, Dem A Talk is only getting a 200 press. If Movado pursued it, there's barely any money even there i think. Seems like more of a 'one for the heads' release. Much like all of the above ^

Would be an interesting exercise to compare people's views on white labels with their views on piracy. Lotta love for this tune atm though, stylistically similar to Sunbeam and Hotpan I thought.
