Why do people think this would be a good idea? Trance songs were good because of certaing elements that imo dubstep doesnt use. They are at totally different ends of the dance music scene. I lost interest in trance a good few years ago with all the shit that was been pushed at us, we give out here about Skrillix but in all honesty i would rather listen to Skrillix than fuckin Ian Van Dahl.

And those Clubland cd's oh dear GOD, the worst abomonation in music imo.

And if you think Clubland is bad, here in Ireland we go even one worse - Irish Clubland... Irish folk songs mixed with utter shit trance songs. Makes me wanna stab myself in the ears.

Trance was a great genre at one time, like 15 years ago.

Because i have already heard Dubstep tracks with Trance elements to it and they smashed the dance floor.

I was at Reconstrvct III and DJ G played this Dubstep track during his set that had some Trance melodies and i was so shocked how mysterious and fresh it sounded. i had to stop dancing and just stood there listening to this hybrid. gave me chills.

I think taking trance elements like the mood and vibe of the melodies and mixing it with elements of dubstep like the beat and tempo could work very well if done properly.

I'll just leave this here...

http://www.whitelightmixes.com/mixes/wh ... ch-optimo/

Twitch from Optimo:

“I don’t drive but I spend a lot of my life being driven about late at night which can have quite a transcendental effect. I wanted to reclaim the trance word from years of misuse and bad associations and create a mix of what I term pure trance. I knew right from the start the kind of tracks to look out that would evoke the feeling I get late at night, being driven between cities when the conversation has ceased and everyone in the car is lost in their own thoughts, slightly spaced out.”

Word of warning: No sign of glowsticks or Paul Van Dyk in there.
