So many dubstep artists producing the same shit that just fall down into the abyss of other producers waiting to get their big break. I've skipped so many tunes because all I can hear is some shit I've heard before. A simple "meh", and I move on. People need to switch it up.

Also a good tip...MAKE NEW FUCKING BASS PATCHES YOU WHORES. USING THE SAME BASSES IN 5 DIFFERENT TUNES IS GOD DAMN UNACCEPTABLE.

I come here to avoid this type of shit. (only clicked on this thread optimistically thinking op meant "man made something new" in caveman talk, not "man, make something new" )

I'd agree, I spend most of my time on the Production forum, I like it a lot more than the General Discussion forum. People are generally a lot nicer and more helpful on here

I think it will die out soon enough if people keep up the way they feel about the whole genre itself, as in it should stay underground and all that kinda thing, I'm not saying give it to Justin Bieber and let him take over, I'm just saying openin the fuck up for new things!
Justin Bieber isn't even popular anymore, enough with that comparison.
His new album has dubstep. He will be more popular than ever, don't worry.

i went to beatport the other day to see what americans think is cool in dubstep. EVERYONE is biting skrillex's tropes at this point that these people have become irrelevant. I really can't wait until skrillex decides to change up his style or whatever he does (maybe learns how to do something else new?) and leaves all these followers hanging.

I've been designing my own sounds from scratch and doing a lot of sample recording to create organic 'electronic' music myself. I'm not even sure if it's dubstep anymore, but bass will always be in my blood.

the thing I like about Beatport is that you can sort by label, so I can go check out Tempa's newest releases or something. I used to use iTunes and you can't do it on iTunes.
I like Juno the best though.

I dont get why people are so butt-hurt with bro stuff

its like people get personally offended that it exists and think that dubstep is doomed etc etc

there should be different genres. the dark shit is IMO more monotonus and repetitive and uniform than bro is anyway. complain about stuff sounding the same and then listen to 20 "deep dark cuts" that are 7 minutes of distant subs and repetitive drums... cmon... a lot of it is VERY similar and unimaginatgive, its no wonder people like the melt my face dubstep

there is good and bad in dubstep of all its subgenres

I can go from listening to J kenzo to Dodge and Fuski or something even more ridic even... gasp... skrillex

I laughed :P Though I do agree that there is good and bad in dubstep of all subgenre and I can also go from listening to synkro to listening to like genetix or something however I disagree that dubstep is more repetitive than brostep, its soooo much more varied and artists really have unique recognizable styles

pretty sure this doesn't belong here, but i've kept it to myself for too long
i'm not afraid to say, this "dungeon" sound has got to be the most SAMEY load of fucking same-shit tunes i've ever encountered

now to be fair, i think its a sick sound. for about five minutes.
But for fucks sake, boys.... i cannot handle a set of that shit
It's like one endless dungeon tune. mix it up!!!!

why aren't there more varied 140 sets, i ask (for the 10000th time)

Astute observation, sir! I am american, though I consider myself a bit more continental as I spent most of my childhood in the middle east. I appreciate how you assumed that I was saying that I was not american, by poorly attempting to 'read into' what I was saying, when in fact, I was stating point blank that I was wondering what kind of dubstep americans were currently considering cool.

I don't pretend to be british, nor do I wish I was. I simply am, and that's all that matters to me. I hope you've enjoyed unsuccessfully calling me out. I hope it was worth your time.
