I was just wondering really.
For all those that are shaving, do you shave up or down?
I shaved up many years back and sliced my face to shit.
I've shaved downwards now for the last 15 some years.

Shave down first then across the grain then up. My face gets hacked to bits and I always end up with ingrown hairs

I use an ingrown hair lotion which really helps.
But I can never shave up, it`s like taking a blunt spoon to my throat and hacking away.

This is the first time in my, albeit relatively brief, life that I've ever heard of anyone shaving up.
What's the point?

That`s my question.
I saw an american sitcom and the one dude shaved up.
I cringed.
Is there something we're missing?

I shave *should of read with the direction of the hair growth (hair grows down, I shave down), so all directions and my face is as smooth as a baby's arse once shaved and I rarely cut myself this way, that being said my hair per inch is quite low.

Shave up!?! Are you mental?
Downward always apart from the internal jugular vein area (best way I can describe it)

Yeah that convergence of valleys is impossible to traverse. Razor free-for-all territory

don`t you cut yourself shaving upwards?
I massacred myself.
Never tried again, didn`t see the point considering it works fine shaving downward.

Maybe it's like a macho thing - you have an upwards shave, take a wank with your left hand, read Men's Health for a bit and then find a woman to hit. IDK

I'v bought a trimmer, so just shave real quick every day down to 0.5mm....slight stubble, but never have to wet shave again i dont reckon, so much less hassle!

always shave with the direction of the hair's growth. this prevents ingrown hairs, razor burns, irritation, cuts, and makes for a cleaner end result.
why the hell do people challenge this as if its some sort of competition.
