Using multiple DAWS
I Made my first album in FL and now i'm switching over to Ableton. I feel like its a little more professional on the production liveability and Fl is WAY more efficient for mastering you can read details more.
I plan on playing live in june. and I was wondering...
Would I be able to Produce my track in Ableton and then Bounce it as a .WAV to Fl Studios Edision and Time stretch the whole song to my liking and then bounce the track back and throw it in to the playlist master it and bounce it as an .mp3
Would this ruin the quality?

Re: Using multiple DAWS
Why would you want to timestretch in FL over Ableton? Ableton is hands down the best for this imo.

IMHO:
ableton > FL
(that being said, FL still rocks)

Re: Using multiple DAWS
you need to play with the different modes when stretching. try complex pro

Re: Using multiple DAWS
Each has their strengths. Live is still better for playing live, and playing live in your studio. Fl is better for more common production tasks, just fast as hell.

Re: Using multiple DAWS
One more question??
Do I absolutely positively no doubt about it need to have monitor speakers or can a 1000 watt 5.1 surround sound home theatre do the job. I apply all the mastering techniques I can find so i dont see why its necassary i know how it should sound..

2000 watt 7.1 THX surround would be better for prodcution, but yours will do just fine .NickyXplosion wrote:One more question??

^this?
make sure to mix your track down to 5.1 though or it won`t sound full enough

Re: Using multiple DAWS
i actually work alot faster in ableton, i thought fl was just very limitingnowaysj wrote:Each has their strengths. Live is still better for playing live, and playing live in your studio. Fl is better for more common production tasks, just fast as hell.
like if you make a pattern which your looping, you cant edit just one of the loops slightly for variation, you have to make a new pattern. In ableton your just duplicating the patterns so you can edit any of them. stuff like that really
With ableton theres just a bit of a learning curve, once you know your way around the daw its a beast
Re: Using multiple DAWS
Lately I've been producing and mixing down in ableton, and then arranging and mastering inside of Reaper 4. The change of environment is great, puts you in a different mindset.

Re: Using multiple DAWS
Fl Studio has significant mastering qualities, ableton makes it easier to control parameters and such, warping , and dont forget good old MIDI effects. I dont know if fl studio has any.

Re: Using multiple DAWS
why would you go through the trouble to write, record, and mix a track if you're just gonna time stretch the master

Re: Using multiple DAWS
This couldn't be easier in flstudio. You just have to know the daw.JTMMusicuk wrote:i actually work alot faster in ableton, i thought fl was just very limitingnowaysj wrote:Each has their strengths.
