I have an example here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ns8n5NX1 ... re=related. In the description.
What are your views on selling a track? Especially a dubstep tune. "Pounding syncopated drums, shuffling rhythms, grinding bass and buckets of energy" is this description really necessary. Personally I think music conveys much more than can be described on a piece of paper and the people that write the descriptions for tracks are just doing a job in selling the track. They will never say that a track is shit or if it's dope.
Do these descriptions really sell the tune? As far as I'm concerned juno and other companies are just paying guys to think up crazy ways of describing tracks.
Honestly when you listen to a tune you will know if it's dope in the first minute or so... personally "hunted - lxone and sp:mc" comes to mind, as well as "Ruff lovin - coki" and "ruffhouse - J:kenzo".
When you hear these tracks, it's like "whoa" hang on, this is fucking crazy.
Now Imagine someone describing/selling one of those tracks...I'm sure hearing the track and hearing the description.
One could make their mind up either way.
So what is your opinion on this? The descriptions of dubstep tunes.....

Re: Describing or Selling a track?
descriptions can only ever take away from a track for me. whenever i hear a track or LP that's been described or reviewed i'm always squaring it up to the review in the back of my mind and it influences how i react to it. equally true for any music.
also whack PR copy like that is just hella annoying to read. so dripping with fake children's TV presenter enthusiasm
