Pop shit then emo/screamo, hiphop, grime, indie, bro, then finally dubstep.

round about chronological order.

That was it really, never had much taste for pop music.

was into ridiculously heavy music from grade 6, when i was like 12-13? then toned it down fine tuned my taste to hardcore (not the electronic hardcore) australian hardcore more than anything, miles away, confession, carpathian, prom queen, deez nuts, break even, parkway.. (not much at all anymore, but their original sounds were incred.) as well as similar bands around the world..

also largely hip hop influenced.. Biggie > Pac for me
don't really listen to any hip hop that get's radio play, because like a lot of music on the radio, it's straight garbage.. i liked yelawolf before he made it (just the fact, his music has turned very mainstream, and poppy, but, i do have a guilty pleasure with animal prod. by diplo/borgore lol it's in the hook!) but yeah, yelawolf, slaughterhouse as a group, slaughterhouse as individuals, not big at all on eminem these days.

Local-ish stuff, for any new zealanders here, or aussie's, might know the label BreakinWreckWordz, really into all the artists from that label, real down to earth music, good vibe etc etc.

strictly no, but i'd say their presence is bigger in Australia now, bigger than what it was.

i found out because i listen to Deez Nuts, JJ, the man of Deez Nuts, introduced me to Louie Knuxx through colabs/side projects, i then did some good internet research, and badaboom badabing breakinwreck are now one of my favourite music labels!

Rage Against the Machine mainly, it was Daft Punk that really turned on my electric side

Those 2 will never ever leave me. Although I still can't get into certain songs off Homework.. Once in a while i'll have the Green Day phase again, but you can't deny their 90's shit was 2legit2quit

Pop > Nu Metal > Hip Hop > Pop > Cheesy Trance > Acid/Classic Trance > Electronic music as a whole but especially IDM/Techno/Minimal > Still Electronic music but mostly Rave Techno/Old Skl Hardcore > Experimental Electronic music like Krautrock/Kosmiche music > Experimental/Alternative Rock/Jazz > Rock as a whole > Music as a whole.

Everything from acid trance since I've kind of absorbed into what I listen too. Before that I pretty much ditched the genres (like Nu Metal). Classical's always been there to varying degrees. I'd guess the artists in my life I've spent the most time listening to would probably be Orbital, Velvet Underground, My Bloody Valentine, Nine Inch Nails, Pink Floyd, Outkast, Oliver Lieb, Faust, Skream and Amon Tobin.

pop punk > indie > hiphop > deep house / dubstep > funky / grime / garage

that starts when i was around 13, before that i never listened to music i thought it was pointless

Southern hip hop from my parents, Mexican music from living in arizona, then system of a down, then the rest of hard rock, then, metalcore, then technical death metal and IDM, and then dubstep.
Hip-Hop would probably be my biggest influence.

Brother used to play rock all the time, so it was mainly just that for a while. I remember he used to play Songs for the Deaf constantly when I was about 10 or so and I loved it, still is my favourite album. Metal, blues, punk, jazz and all that shite came after. Then shitty dance music but good idm stuff. Then dubstep, and most other bass music. Still listen to everything though.

Hip hop ---> specifically west coast hip hop ---> Bassnectar and more west coast-style trip hop/glitch hop ---> Skrillex (yes, it did happen for a little while) ---> Datsik ---> Skream ---> Digital Mystikz ---> Distance ----> Kryptic Minds ---> Burial ----> all good, deep bass music now (Skream, Digital Mystikz, Kryptic Minds, Phaeleh, Dark Sky, Burial, many more).

And the progression ends :W:

Ensiferum, Metallica, Wintersun, Trivium, Insomnium, Nightwish, AC/DC etc. etc. etc.

All kind of metal, except for nu-metal and too watered out metal.
