@MTHRFNK - New 1 - Great track, was bobbing my head the whole way through, awesome melody, just great overall! What are you using to master your tracks?

alexeyhermann wrote:ehbrums1 - the idea is good. If I were you I would work on the notes to start with, they dont go well with the background, on the other hand i cant really tell because the main synth you use has almost no pitch but only nose. as for rythm I would try to make it more diverse and glitchy if you know what I mean, like with a help of beat repeat or something. Otherways its does have grove in it so you might as well try to finish it ) good luck !

ChadDub - it gets much better then I expected ))) I have no suggestions for you sir, not even sure if you asked for feedback )

alpz - wow man, great sub , great mixing, love it, if only it were more diverse

Cubicle - its good, the structure is alright, but the mixing isnt so good, I would advise you installing izotope ozone or use any other spectrum analizer, in other words, work on your mixing. otherways its good in terms of rythm and composition.

RyLee - epic thing mate ) have no suggestions apart from sayng that you snare doesnt have enough low frequencies, in other words "not fat" ) but its a matter of one second. Keep up the epic work )))

here is the latest thing I did, it lacks something, I know for sure that my biggest problems apart from mixing are drops ) have no idea how to make a good drop and how to make a good intro, if anyone knows whre to get some decent advices on that its much apreciated.

Soundcloud
yo
i think the best thing to do with intros is make them dj friendly
aka a simple beat or synth with some percussion and part of your vocals
one tip i picked up was to lower the volume of your drums by a couple db just for the intro part
for a drop maybe some white noise or risers...whatever tickles your fancy:P itll have more impact the the intro is less crazy

that said i like it!

@alpz i like your track a lot haha, it sounds a tad muddy though but i feel like that's how you wanted it to feel. soundcloud isn't helping that sub out at all haha.

@dubmikey i like the choice of effects. looking forward more progress. sub sounds good in my bose headphones, don't really have a better setup right now due to no $$ :(

@alexeyherman you could get rid of the sub for the intro and then have the whole song change tempo and wind down somehow and then have it returning to normal with the sub be the drop? i know that was a killer run on sentence but i'm a bit baked.

my track is in my sig. completely redid the drums, added a lot of effects and messed around with mixing a bit more. i think the song is enjoyable and not really that repetitive from start to finish now :D lemme know what you guys think.

@RyLeem bring that kick out man, it's being destroyed by that sub, high pass that sumbitch and let it sit on top of the sub. the track as a whole needs to be mixed but alas it is a wip and maybe you don't mix as you work.

@alexeyherman-sound is dope, up until the drop. alot of the rest of it went out of town. some cool sounds but it feels too mashed up imo. alot of distortion and your basses are muddied up quite a bit. maybe eq out some of the muddy stuff.

@difference-biggest thing with this tune, don't stop the sub, let that shit roll, with this kind of melody and style, the sub carries the song. excellent atmosphere all around. maybe compress your kicks and add some verb to that snare to let it resonate a bit,

here is an update to mine, hope you enjoy, i fixed the bass on the breakdown so ill post those results in a couple days.

thanks for the honest advices guys, I will try to work on it then, it is something I have never done - never worked on my tune after uploading it, which is stupid. it is muddy as hell ...

@ChadDub: I really like the synth you used on that track. I think it sounds a bit dry however. Maybe have a go using a reverb or some delay with it. I also like the sample you used before the drop. The only other thing I can really suggest is to maybe add a little more "pop" to the snare, it almost sounds like either the snare is conflicting with your hats, or maybe its just mixed low. I like to boost a tiny bit around 250hz to get snares hitting nicely in my mixes. For the most part though, I like the track, and I think with a little bit more work, the results will pay off. Nice work. =]

@RyLee: The strings in this tune are very immense. I really am in love with the strings. Bass sounds pretty nice on the second drop, maybe add a little bit more gain to the mids in the bassline if you use frequency splitting, it feels like it might help the bass sit a bit better on top of the strings. Maybe try taking a reverse snare and adding it before the initial snare hit, I find that really helps accent the snare in songs like this one. Oh, and definitely keep up work on this song, I really like the vibe of it.

@ehbrums1: I love the overall idea of the song. I think you should really work on your notes however. The bass seems to be out of tune with the song somewhat at parts. Also i'd suggest processing your bass samples to get more mids and lows out of the sound also. The drums sound great to me in this track, its just the bass aspect that seems to throw the song off a bit. All in all though, with a better sounding bassline this song has some potential to be awesome.

As for my newest work, It is in my signature, and I would love some feedback. Thanks guys. =]

@Altron : Your intro is really nice, but i was expecting something more chilled :p There's a good overall, maybe your hats deserves more volume. You may need more variation on your synth.

@Crow Steppa : It sounds raw. Your synth are cold, and it sounds like out of the key. You should add reverb to your snare to give it more presence.

@Difference : That's a good surprise. Exactly the kind of tunes that I love. Nothing wrong to me, very good job !

@Dubmickey : The idea is good, but it deserves more work. You have now to make everything sounds a bit better. Good overall.

@alexeyhermann : Sounds loud as a fuck, is the master limited at +6db ?

@ People who don't give 3 piece of feedback » GTFO !

Mine now, something chilled, I've been working on a few hours when i made my EP, i've just finished it. Hope you gonna like it. Enjoy.

Hey guys, thanks for the feedback on my previous track again.
RyLee wrote:@MTHRFNK - New 1 - Great track, was bobbing my head the whole way through, awesome melody, just great overall! What are you using to master your tracks?
On that track I used FerricTDS, Density MKII and iZotope Ozone 5 on the master channel to roughly master it up. A lot of people would probably say that might be a horrible combination, but I thought it came out sounding ok, esepcially for a quick SoundCloud upload. By the way, if you use Ozone 5, you'll want to try and nail your mixdown first - I've had some bad results with it when I do a sloppy mixdown. As for your track man, it sounds quite trancy. I like it, although I'm not too sure I like the snare. I do like the use of crowd noise though. Could just use a little variation and a good intro.

Here's my feedback for everyone else:
@Darj: Really nice intro, the soft percussion is really nice. Reminds me a lot of a Blackmill tune. The bass is really nice too. I don't have any criticisms, really nice track man.
@Altron: I was thinking the same as Darj, the intro and drop sound kind of weird together because the intro is so chilled. I'd raise your hats in the mix and pan them out a bit. Synth work is quite nice, try making the lead basses slightly more crisp.
@Crow Steppa: Nice man, got kind of an old school vibe. I like the plucks that drive the intro. On the drop however the lead synths sound kind of dead, I'd work on fattening them up, maybe try layering them. Your percussion sounds really nice though as do the vocal stabs.
@difference: Really nice intro man, really good work. Love your percussion. Not much to say, nice chilled track.

---------------------------------------------------------

Here's my latest WIP, I'm really struggling to design a good bass, it sounds really crap to me atm in fact so does the whole track really. But I figured I see what you guys think to the whole track.

Soundcloud

Track was mixed on headphones, and very roughly mastered, some things probably sound shitty on other peoples systems.

Any comments, feedback and plays/comments on SoundCloud is really appreciated :)

Thanks. :W:

@Crow Steppa I like your WIP a lot! The beat is driving and the bassline is catchy.
@mthrfnk I really like the organ-y synth in your track. It compliments the wobble very nicely. I also like the breakdown with the arpreggiated synth.
@Altron Your track is fucking sick. The bass is grimy as hell and gives off a really heavy vibe, while maintaining an almost oldschool feel. Awesome! :D

@Acro I can dig the pulse/rhythym of it, but the siren things just don't fit IMO. But, then again, I'm a more melodic kinda guy.

@mthrfnk Nice stuff man, your drops are put together well, and I really like the sample (this music is just fucking stupid) you used. Catchy bassline, and I've got shit speakers anyway, so I can't tell the difference in mastering.

@darj Cool song, very chill but still keeps your attention. Well done

@Crow steppa Did not like the beginning synth at all, but as soon as you bring in the main bit I'm jammin'.

Sorry I can't provide more technical feedback, I'm still very new to producing.
Here's my latest WIP, a somewhat recycled bassline (slightly edited) from my last, but this is my first track that is actually over 30 seconds... Hooray :P

@mthrfnk: Sounds nice, but maybe u should clean up the low end little bit, or bring the mids up a bit,the kick gets under the bass,or then its just my headphones, dunno :D

@Darj: Really chilled, can really feel those drops. Maybe ill light up my joint and listen this track :D

@Altron: The kick could be little bit punchier or atleast brighter, as the snare too. The bassline sounds nice and fat, i really like that.
Maybe eq low end to clean it up, not much but little bit.

Thank for the feedbacks. ChadDub, i didnt totally understand what synths u meant?
Gave some compress to the synths and added some new things here and there.
Took everything away from the mastering channel, except eq witch has some stock mastering preset in it, and left also stereo enchancer there but took it down a bit so its not widening the mix so much.
Also i cleaned the low end so it shouldnt be that muddy now.

@MaZa1 I'm not really into the wobbly stuff much but I'll give you feedback the best I can, I think you should first workout a good intro for it before the main wobbly synths come in some dark pads some percussion with reverb/delay just to give it that moody vibe to set the tone. Then a nice build up before the drop and maybe a reversed crash just to introduce the main. Drums work well the snare could do with a bit more top end maybe some reverb (Yes I have an obsession with reverb) The structure seems a bit crazy I'd work on that just to give it a nice base to work with.

@DefKone1 The intro atmosphere works well I'd add a few more synths and maybe some percussion with reverb (Yes more reverb) just to give it some space and a mood. I'd shorted the intro to about 30 seconds and leave the sub until the main comes in just to give it more of a surprise to when it actually falls in. Main wobbly synths could do with a bit of a low end chop but besides that sounding pretty decent so far, keep up the progress!

@Acro Surprised your quite new tune sounds pretty much like all the wobbly stuff my friends play ha! Intro works well I like the atmosphere and the sub drops gives it some nice presence! Build up works well gets the energy going. Vocal before the drop works well aswell. Main synths sound a bit loud maybe like 5% lower volume on them. structure works well but the drums get a bit overshadowed by the drums I'd probably work on just bring them through first!

Update on my latest WIP might actually finish this one for once haha! any feedback appreciated :W:

@altron that track is just terrible (kidding, you know its a banger ;D) i would even up the mixdown if anything, some of the levels seem to be a off by just a smidge and it becomes a bit unclear at some points. but i really like the vibe, and the groove when it drops.
@difference, i really dug your track. it sounded very clean and minimal and i like that. the only tiff i have with it is just personal preference,( i would switch up the hats a bit more, just for a little more momentum)
@crow steppa, your track was pretty decent. i would def raise the level of your sub bass, maybe spread your mids and highs a bit more on the synth, and work on the eq for your drums a bit. it was a catchy tune, easy to grasp. it just lacked fullness.

heres my newest clip, i threw it together tonight/this morning. i have yet to resample, and the eqing need a bit of work, i know that. so tell me something i dont know =)

Eye-siC: Nice trancy intro, nice bass. The drums seem to drown in it though. Great arrangement though. Vibe is uplifting, with a bit of cheese :D

InTheCrowd: WOW! The vibes on this one! Nothing to critique though.

DefKone1: Love the poppy transient kick and the uneasing pads and melody. For some reason I am reminded of the good old Doom 1 soundtrack. Great track!

Now heres me trying something a tad bit heavier, still need to give it a proper mixdown and work on the drums tho.

@alexeyhermann- Very nice intro. Slides awesomely into the drop. The toms in between measures add a nice dubbed out vibe. Great production and composition.

@Brisance- I think your bass could use a little more presence, but I like the fast wobble. Maybe bring the drums up a tad too? I really like the snare hit though. The trancey synth is also really cool.

@InTheCrowd- Your track is fucking bomb. Very chilled out. Your production is spot-on. I love the chilled out vibes. What DAW are you using?

@Eye-sic- Love the reggae-ish synth in the drop. Compliments the bass very nicely.

Also, Thanks to everyone who gave me feedback on my last WIP, especially InTheCrowd. I gave the levels a tweak like you suggested and It sounds much better.

@Brisance: I like where you're going with this. maybe trying using more effects on your main bass track. some more drive for a couple of bars or maybe even a bit crusher. idk sounds good though

@InTheCrowd: yeuhh the sub makes me happy in this :]

@MaZa1: make sure you make an intro for this. start with a beat and stagger your effects until they all come into play when you want them too. kinda reminds me of skrillex too. genre bending. electro/dubsteppy
