You do know that "Selling your soul" is a Blues tradition, right? It's not literal...

Bob Dylan made an incredibly famous album called Highway 61 Revisited (it's got Like A Rolling Stone on it, it's quite... well known...) as a reference to the act of selling your soul to the devil in order to learn the blues - Highway 61 is the road to the blues (the road to Memphis, Baton Rouge, New Orleans) , it's where you sell your soul... or "learn the blues". It's a metaphor. A really, really famous metaphor made from the Gospel notion that the Blues was the "Devil's Music". It doesn't mean he's a bloody Devil worshipper - he's also a pretty famous born again Christian!

I have a big photo of him on my wall and *everything* he's ever recorded. You can't test me on Bob.

Coincidences, coincidences and paranoid famous people. It's pretty natural for a man in 2Pac's position - watched day-by-day by the FBI as part of their surveillance of rap stars, accused of crimes he possibly didn't commit, shot at by peers and surrounded by gangsters - to be fairly paranoid about his life and think the world was out to get him, but he was a pretty rational target from all directions in reality; you don't need a conspiracy to find an early grave for 2Pac.

Michael Jackson was thrust into celebrity under the age of ten and stayed their for his entire life, maintaining immense fame whilst being psychologically shattered by an abusive father and pressures that a child can't even properly comprehend. Whether the charges against him were true or not will never properly come out, but given that he admitted on public TV that he liked sharing his bed with young boys, it doesn't seem to big a leap to think that either something happened, or someone saw an incredibly tempting opportunity to extort him for millions of dollars... I tend to think the latter. Either way, a conspiracy just isn't needed - Michael Jackson's story is just really, really sad.

What about the vast majority of stars that live into their old age and die normally? Sure, we get a lot of noise when a celebrity dies early, but it's only a couple every year (I've had Britney in the Death Pool for a decade now!) - in any extended friendship group you probably hear of a couple of untimely ends every year. No conspiracy needed... rich/famous people can live more volatile existences because they don't necessarily have to get up for work every morning. Rates of addiction are likely to be higher as are mental issues stemming from the pressures of fame and public scrutiny... it's not really that shocking that a slightly higher rate of celebrities die early than the rest of us. Luberjacks, wrestlers, bicycle couriers and the unemployed have a habit of dying early too... I don't see any conspiracies about them?

On the topic of celebrity deaths, back before abusing pharmaceuticals was trendy amongst celebs (and really the population as a whole), there was hardly any drug related deaths with them besides the ones who enjoyed barbituates. Elvis for example loved pills but thought weed was bad. The ones who stuck to natural drugs are still rocking. I'd like some of whatever the Rolling Stones were smoking. But no doubt it's illegal because it's 'bad for you!'.

Dude, when my certainty about Dylan comes from listening to every piece of music he's ever recorded and reading almost every book ever written about him, including two by himself and the conspiracists "certainty" comes from watching a 10 minute YouTube video, I think it's obvious who's is a little more reliable.

If you want to believe, believe by all means - but if you guys provide me with your "evidence" and it's utter rubbish about one of my heroes, I will shoot it down.

Lots of early anglian churches had ancient symbols and features incorporated into them, the same how medieval churches have gargoyles. Thats a part of gothic architecture, not some hidden message or meaning. No doubt i'll be told how wrong i am.

There was a very nerdy, but interesting BBC series about church decoration and architecture a year or so back... "How To Read Churches" or something. Gargoyles, faeries and woodland imps don't have much to do with Christianity (in fact, at various times you could be burned for believing in some of them!), but they became part of a tradition... the initial uses were seemingly used to make 'natives' feel more comfortable around churches, but you're totally right... after a few centuries it just becomes "the shit you put on churches", there's no hidden meanings to the green man on St Pauls Cathedral. Christopher Wren just thought that's what you put on churches.

Same with most of the masonry stuff. It just filled some gaps... made buildings a bit prettier... started some conversations. Good work.

Let's not forget that freemasons started as a collective of masons and architects - it's no wonder they're popular symbols with masons and architects!

Normal, is what you see everyday when you look around. You know who the last person to ask me to define normal? A fucking scene middle school girl.
