My workstation is Windows based, and my DAW is Ableton.
Production of bass heavy music is obviously a concern here for me, but Dubstep isn't the only genre of music that I have an interest in.
Considering this is dubstepforum.com I think I can leave off the dubstep artist examples..
Some examples of my non-dubstep music interests would be stuff:
Nachtmahr - Can You Feel The Beat
Aesthetic Perfection - Inhuman
PSYCLON NINE - Parasitic
For the audio interface I'm looking at something from Presonus such as one of the following interfaces.
Presonus Audiobox 1818VSL

Presonus Firestudio

I'm obviously open to suggestions as to another interface, but given the technical specifications I thought that perhaps these two looked pretty good to me.
Currently I need to be able to have an input for recording a mic for vocals and an instrument such as an electric guitar. Oh and of course, I need the midi interface for keyboard input and such.
I know that I can get a smaller interface with less inputs and outputs and such, but if I go ahead and buy one with more options right now, then I don't need to buy another one at some near point down the road.
However, I suppose I could also be just as happy with something like this interface as well, because I could always just sell it "IF" I find I need to upgrade it at some later point.

I don't "require" the audio interface to be by Presonus, however the general postings and reviews of these products seem to be pretty good.
The store carries a few other interfaces as well, so if you have any suggestions about those, it would be really helpful too.
Here's the link for the audio interfaces they had available.

As far as my consideration of studio monitors go......
The store has KRK Rokit 5 G2 & Rokit 6 G2, M-Audio AV40 , JBL (couple different ones and sub), and Yamaha HS50M listed on their website so I had initially considered one of those brands, however when I went into their shop to check out the physical monitors themselves they also had a model from Genelec as well. I should have written down the model number, but I think it was an 8020 (smaller one, I think a 5"). The genelec cost $499.00 per monitor (sales person said it was on sale currently), but I really got the feeling that I would end up needing to spend extra money and get the genelec sub if I wanted to get a good bass response.
I read over numerous postings and now I'm even more confused about this stuff. I read over the dubstep production bible from here, but when it came to the genelec it said that if I was looking at these then I probably already now what I am doing. (uhg. obviously I don't know about much about them.)
If you want to actually see the specifications and such for the monitors I'm looking at, they have them listed on their website.
List of monitors...

They don't have the genelec monitors listed which is kind of annoying actually.
But the music shop is really close by my house, which is why I am looking at buying the hardware from their location. If I just went on a budget consideration the KRK 6's look good, and people seem to be pretty happy with them.
My studio is approximately 10ft x 12ft in size.
I am on somewhat of a budget, but I realize that I don't want to buy something I am going to end up being unhappy with either. So any input and suggestions would be really helpful, because to be honest at this point, I'm more confused about which monitors would be good for me than when I started.
Suggestions? Opinions? Thanks in advance, I honestly do appreciate any input you all might have on this.
