How can you be sure it was a "demon" though?

Witnessing strange phenomena, yes. Attributing it to a satanic being, not so much.

My supernatural experiences don't go beyond a sort-of-half OOBE and a few run ins with sleep paralysis (which doesn't really count but it feels like it at the time.)

When I was younger I also saw the future in my dreams sometimes, not major tragedies or anything, just places I had never seen before and would go on to visit. Could just be mixed up memories though.

I also had a really wierd sense of dread the day before my aunt died, I was properly freaking out, almost cried at one point. I even texted my mum to see if she was okay. I just felt incredibly worried and frightened for no apparent reason and then that evening we get a phone call saying my aunt died that day in a house fire. :o

ok- I'll tell you one...

This didn't surprize me because I already had these types of experiences...
But - it just sort of confirms the phenomenon - to me at least...

I was having a problems with a certain type of bacterial infection in my throat...
Eventually I found out that the problem was that my body was in a state of allergic reaction...
Which creates a suitable environment for this type of bacteria to live...

So - I was at the doctor - having my throat checked for like the 4th time...

skip back to a year previous...
I had an accident while trying to take care of a damaged awning...
It was collecting a huge amount of water because a support was broken...
long story short - I got hit in the chest with a pole and it was like being hit by a truck...
I didn't got hospital at the time - although I probably should have..
The injury healled but - I had pain there off and on...

back to the throat doctor...

My Doctor looked at me cock-eyed and moved to touch me and hesitated...
Went to touch me again..and stopped...

Then put his hand across my chest exactly where I had pain from the awning accident the year before...
and pressed down like a compress there...

I wasnt thinking about it - and I never told him about the accident
but he could sense where I was in pain...
i bet y'all are late on catching the hermetic allegory in every episode - parsons..?

I'm saying that as a doctor he may be more well equipped to notice something of that nature, as oppossed to someone who has not spent several years in medical school who would not pick up on such things as they are not trained to, so yes it is possible that he could tell by your posture or something else subconcious that you wouldn't pick up on yourself

you're seriosuly surprised a doctor noticed an injury just cause you didn't mention it?

When I was very little I always used to see this tall man with long black hair and a high black hat on standing in the corner of our living room. This always totally freaked my mum out cos I would just randomly ask her "Mom who is that man?" "What man?" "That man with the black hat there". This apparently went on for a couple of years for some reason. When I was playing with my LEGO or when I sat on her lab watching tv I would just suddenly ask her "there's that man again, what's he doing?".
Can understand that that would freak her well out tbh.

I suddenly stopped seeing him though when I got older.

I see the future sometimes in my sleep, it's really rare and I have a complete recollection of one stored up in my head that freaked me out.

And that weird sense of dread I had the day my great-grandmother died. I woke up at about 8:00pm or earlier (don't remember exactly) as I was asleep I looked up at my mum crying and she told me that my great-grandmother had died straight after I started crying.

Not even bullshitting you. Shit is fucked up.

Also on the subject of "supernatural beings" my mother is adamant that she saw the ghost of her grandfather (the great-grandmother I mentioned just, this is her husband) when she was younger comforting her after some shit happened and that the house I lived in was haunted by a ghost of a young boy that wanted to play, (shit used to move about in that house, nothing scary happened and if it did, I don't remember shit as I was young, oh and this was when I was living next door to that bloke from Dexy's Midnight Runners).
The wisdom within my afro is infinite.

Supernatural experiences in no way prove the existence of God or the factuality of religions. Just sayin.

I don't believe in one guy being up in the sky. But I totally believe in vibes and shit.

Auras and shit...effects peoples moods intensely....some spiritual shit.

Btw, I am happy to be proven wrong about heaven and some dude being in the sky...shit, I'd fear death less. But I honestly don't believe it.

With the whole supernatural thing never underestimate the lengths some people will go to to get others to believe. That demon someone mentioned seeing a page or two back could very easily have been set up by a bunch of people with the right equipment who want to carry out a prank. Same mentality as the guys who go and make crop circles. Another thing is don't underestimate the mind's ability to warp reality and don't think memory is even vaguely reliable. Example: http://www.cosmosmagazine.com/news/2193 ... unreliable

Here's my take: I personally believe in God. Obviously I lack empirical evidence to prove in, and I don't claim to have any. But in my short time alive, I have seen enough things that for me personally make me believe there is a God. Plenty of other people would look at what I've seen and just say coincedence, but I personally don't. I don't adhere to any strict religion, but I do pray and meditate and the like.
I have nothing against organized religion as a whole, but I DO have plenty against people (including some of the writers of the bible) who take a great idea and try to twist it for their own selfish ends. IMO, it's not organized religion that has started wars and the like, it's people taking what was and still is in my belief a good idea and misconstrueing it to justify murder. Humans are fallible and are prone to crave power, sometimes by any means necessary.
On the other side, I'm a science major and believe in evolution and that the earth is billions of years old, not thousands. I also see nothing wrong with atheism. I don't presume to know what's written on another man's heart and I firmly believe any athiest can live a just and moral and fullfilling life, just as I can. I also don't go around trying to convert non-believers. If you ask me what my opinion is, I'll give it, but I believe everybody has their own journey, and who am I to try to force you down my path? If there is a god, it's my belief that the measure of a good man is one who spends his life searching for his own truth.
In the end of the day, I know there's plenty of things that would point to the lack of a God, but for me personally, I see far more that points to a god's existence. I don't call him jesus or yahweh or allah, I call him God only because it's simple and everybody knows what I'm talking about when I say it. It's certainly not original but that's my philosophy anyways.

I find it amazing that even in this day and age that human beings still cant accept that nature and humanity itself have been the cause of wonder for millenia. Its like an irrational fear or complex that there has to be a god or entity thats other wordly or holy. Personally i dont believe in god, nothing i have ever seen in any country, any place could make me believe there was, in fact its the total opposite. Im not saying im right though, maybe i'll burn in hell.
