I wasn't even supposed to be able to have kids, so needless to say I never thought I'd have any and on top of that I didn't have much of a desire to. But it did actually happen, and my little son is the best thing that has ever happened to me and has made me a better person in so many ways. He's amazing.
ps - I have a cat too and she is a very good older sister. They're treated equally

i cannot imagine being of a certain age and not having children.
will be a strange day, but this is a sure fire way of having an effect on the 'future'

seems to me you gotta do a whole lot of lying to yourself to believe that the world is in any condition to be bringing kids up in

Parson, that's pretty offensive as a parent. Maybe that's your personal opinion, but I wouldn't say people who don't agree are lying to themselves. That's a bit much. Fine if that's how you feel, though, just saying.

anyway, i know i'd be a great dad
and i'd have a great mom for my kid(s)
and my kid(s) would be great
i'm just way too painfully aware of the dire state of the world that i don't think its something i need to be contributing to

just because i don't think people should be so anxious to have offspring doesn't mean i think you need to be regretting the ones you got

fact is, kids should require 100% of your energy
social and political change requires just as much
