what's your program of choice when converting wav to mp3? i've googled a bit and every single search result i get is some dodgy ass program trying to put spyware on my computer

i just use iTunes to convert to 320
i dunno what the fuss over that is all about
i've heard you "need" to use LAME encoder... i really couldn't tell you why it makes a difference
320KB per second is the same rate, whoever encodes it

can you do 320 on audacity? i can only get it to do 192, but i haven't really looked into it

i use itunes as well

An yeah, you simply choose bit rate mode: constant and pick 320. Love audacity.

Don't want to sound pedantic as I can't tell you the in's and out's of it myself but there is a difference between the encoders available even if they are all at 320.
But its probably negligible and unnoticable by many who hear it.

i use dBPoweramp.

you can use audacity, you just have to download an extra encoder file to be able to export to mp3 (on my version anyway)

WinLame. Also supports FLAC, OGG and AIFF (I think). It's free, simple and good. So yeah, use that.

I usually just convert my 320's to wavs with audacity. Such a big chance in sound quality.
