my job is basically being one of those annoying pricks that calls you up at stupid hours to do 'survey's' where we attempt to goad information out of you about your mortgages and finances so the team downstairs can use that information to potentially undercut your current lenders/rip you off cleverly

so you can imagine a lot of the time people dont wana talk to me when i call them up and i get told to go fuck myself in various ways every day

but yesterday i called a house in liverpool, and a little girl answered, and she was pretty loud and the conversation went kind of like this

Me 'hi there can i speak to mr or mrs. blah blah please?'

girl 'WHO?!'

Me 'can i speak to the current home-owner please?'

girl 'WHO?!'

Me 'YOUR MUM OR DAD PUT THEM ON THE PHONE PLEASE'

girl sounding mad panicked and scared - 'oh okay.... MUMMMMYYYYYYYYYY COME QUICK THERE'S A BLACK MAN ON THE PHONE!!!!!!!!!!'

*room full of people erupt in laughter*

im not black either, i just have a chocolatey voice

cracked me up tho, n i still got a lead off it

:h:

:cornlol: :cornlol:

I'm still laughing at the fact she panicked about a black guy on the phone..

And chocolatey voice. ha.
The wisdom within my afro is infinite.

i dont do the sales part but yeh they do

a large portion of my mates work in one of my mates companies that do Google sales, getting peoples companies higher in Google listings, SEO sales basically

its basically the hardest type of sales but you make P if you're good and they absolutely rinse it, but its 100% cold-calling businesses and you HAVE to get bank details over the phone otherwise its a wasted call

people still do it tho

I lasted 2 hours in that profession and was advised to never attempt it again, as I don't have the 'killer drive' as the arsehole put it. I told him in the interview I wasn't target driven or money motivated and only enjoyed helping people though.

yeh for real they keep trying to get me in to work for them and have done for best part of a year cos im pretty good at what im doing now

but thats a whole different thing, the money is good, 15k basic for target of 3 sales a week which for the first month other people will 'close' for me then it gets bumped to 18k after a while plus the ridiculous commission but i dont really want to go into something so target based plus it just turns you into a massive tnuc
