Re: UK Teen Arrested for Afghan War Post
Maybe his "soldiers should die" comment was a bit over the top, but for the rest he's speaking the truth...
Disgusting he got arrested.. It really is. He stated his opinion; nothing more. Not even racism.
Damn UK, I would be ashamed of your police.
Also I would be ashamed of some of your citizens, I'm reading some tweets and blog comments about this.. All saying how he should be "deported" and how he's a "racist" because he doesn't respect the "UK laws" (did he even break one?). I think they're the ones that are the racists here.

Re: UK Teen Arrested for Afghan War Post
i reckon its some hothead racist police sergeant who's called for the arrest, one who is now being disciplined whilst his superiors furiously try and backpedal/spin this so it doesn't reflect quite so badly.
That said, i cant find anything on the bbc/guardian front pages about it

Vote Norsefire.

This is ridiculous. It would be hilarious if it wasn't so worryingly stupid.

Are you trying to say the logical conclusion of being a dedicated muslim is to join the taliban?

^No of course not. I dont think he understands how multi cultural the british army is, theres hundreds of pakistani's and muslims in the armed forces. What hope do we have as a nation when people on both sides of the spectrum refuse to accept one another.

Pakistani and muslims that are living as english citzens and in the english army are english. So are their children born in England. They are part of your society, they are citizens of your country, not something else.JBoy wrote:^No of course not. Of course they would not, they were exiled in an anthropoemic (not sure if that's the right translation, anthropologic process that exiles or eradicates the other within a society) process, they don't feel like englishmen, they feel threatned and unwelcome.cityzen wrote:I'm not sure they would all agree with you.Hircine wrote:Pakistani and muslims that are living as english citzens and in the english army are english. irrelevant, because he wasn't (as i read it) trying to make a point about race.JBoy wrote:^No of course not. his point was about biased coverage of the casualties on either side in the war, which he's right about.
though he also went to insult the memory of the dead british soldiers, which i dont' agree with but he is entitled to do. (the soldiers didn't decide we'd invade afghanistan, and doubtless thought they were being sent on a much more justifiable mission than what it turned out to be. and they and their families deserve some respect because they've died.)

Political power comes from the people. People delegate that power to fair judges (some John Locke swagggg). If the soldiers didn't want to risk their lives or didn't want to invade afghanistan they should've deserted or never volunteered at all, it was their choice, not some politic organization's.tyger wrote:irrelevant, because he wasn't (as i read it) trying to make a point about race.JBoy wrote:^No of course not. yeah, I totally forgot that I'm not entitled to a scientific point of view over what happened even though I've studied the matter just because of my nationality. Sorry man, I'm going back to the farms, please don't punish me with a whip.cityzen wrote:It means you can't really comment.
