The Mars Volta

Post by leyenda » Wed Mar 14, 2012 3:29 pm

I'm sure many of you have heard this already but The Mars Volta are bringing out a new album called Noctourniquet. I'll be honest and say that I've never felt they achieved the heights of their first two albums since then but hearing this track, called The Malkin Jewel, from the album which is sort of on a Nick Cave/Tom Waits vibe has got me very excited. Anyone else looking forward to this?

Honestly thought this was going to be about a special edition chocolate bar.

Not entirely dissappointed, but still...might have to get a Mars ice cream on the way home.

I thought Bedlam in Goliath was a decent albumm, wasn't quite as impressed with Octahedron though. Seriously looking forward to the new one though!!!

*edit* Hoping for some UK tour dates as well

I am very excited. Love all their albums (Amputecture is way underrated). Should be a good one!

Never did get around to listening to Omar's solo stuff though. :/

I'm gonna be controversial and say if you whack the track "Frances the Mute" in front of the album on iTunes as it was supposed to be originally then...well it's pretty close between those two albums. Kind of annoying that it wouldn't fit on the CD though.

The vocals on the new track are amazin'! They seemed to have matured a bit musically if that was even possible?
