Re: Most Versatile Synth
Nowaysj knows where it's at. Funny how u called me out on wanting to sell kombinat for Saturn ;D
Re: Most Versatile Synth
just peeped zebra 2 and it doesn't look that crazy. the layout's not too teribly different from massive, and maybe albino though Ive not used it. it's nice that it appears to have a built in multiband EQ but its not too hard to add one in ableton as is.
Re: Most Versatile Synth
Absynth all the way
Re: Most Versatile Synth
you obviosuly didnt look at it too indepth. multistage envelope generator. spectroblend. indivdual oscillator fx, fm capabilties, the comb filter on it, the different formant filters on it, the modular routing with seperate modular fx routing as well. i mean theres tons of shit...zebra is nothing like massive, at all. in fact, massive is known for its digital sound and plasticy digital filters. zebra is known for its warm and smooth analog sound.drake89 wrote:just peeped zebra 2 and it doesn't look that crazy. the layout's not too teribly different from massive, and maybe albino though Ive not used it. it's nice that it appears to have a built in multiband EQ but its not too hard to add one in ableton as is.
Re: Most Versatile Synth
Yeah, plus you said you were considering FM8. Operator and FM8 are both FM synths, Operator being much easier to use really, though they are both capable of making the same kind of sounds. If you can't get your head around Operator, buying FM8 won't really help.nowaysj wrote:So why set yourself the task of learning another synth when you barely know what is going on? Stick with operator, you can get helluv thick sounds out of it. The problem is not with operatorImmerse wrote:im a complete newb when it comes to synthesis.
I'd suggest Albino as a good all around synth, as well as Sylenth. Both are easy to program, are very very versatile, and sound amazing.
Re: Most Versatile Synth
+1 pretty much the most versatile synth. But like many others mentioned: Learning is more important then gear. Checkout:http://noisesculpture.com/how-to-make-a ... rogrammingVolatile Psycle wrote:http://www.kv331audio.com/

When you said you can't get big sounds out of it. I meant more get your head around the synthesis though, not the interface.Immerse wrote:damnit people when did i say i couldnt wrap my head around operator. i know it in and out
Re: Most Versatile Synth
Yeah what workboat (auto correct wormcode) said.
You should be able to get fat sounds through layering and grouping. Make multiple instances at different octaves, highlight them all, rightclick group tracks. Kind of like combinator if you're familiar weth reason.
