1) Decide what software you will be running. In your case, it will be FL Studio.
2) Find out the system requirements for said software. This can either be on the box it came in, or on "the internet". For this example, i used the search engine "Google" and found that the system requirements for FL Studio are:
2Ghz AMD or Intel Pentium 3 compatible CPU with full SSE1 support.
Windows 7, Vista, XP & 2000 (32 & 64 Bit)
(or) Intel Mac with Boot Camp (running XP, Vista or Windows 7, 32 or 64 Bit)
1 Gb or more RAM recommended
1 Gb free disk space
Soundcard with DirectSound drivers. ASIO/ASIO2 compatible required for audio recording (FL Studio installs with generic ASIO4ALL drivers)
3) Purchase a PC that meets or exceeds those system requirements. From this example, we can see that almost any PC built in the past decade can run FL Studio.
After performing another "Google search", i have also found the following system requirements:
Reason
Windows XP SP2, Vista or Windows 7
Processor: Intel P4 / AMD Athlon XP or better
Memory: 512 MB RAM minimum, 1 GB recommended
Screen resolution: 1024x768
2 GB free hard disk space
DVD reader
16-bit windows compatible audio card, preferably with DirectX or ASIO drivers
Cubase
Windows 7*
Intel or AMD dual core CPU
2 GB RAM
Display resolution of 1280 x 800 recommended
Windows compatible audio hardware (ASIO compatible audio hardware recommended for low-latency performance)
8 GB of free HD space
DVD-ROM dual-layer drive
Ableton
2 GHz Pentium® 4 or Celeron® compatible CPU or faster (multicore CPU recommended)
2 GB RAM (4 GB recommended on Windows Vista and Windows 7)
Windows XP (home or Pro), Windows Vista or Windows 7
sound card (ASIO driver support recommended)
DVD-ROM drive
From the above, we can see that FL Studio will run fine on any PC with enough power to run Cubase, Ableton or Reason. So please stop your whining, this only took a few seconds to find out.
