Ipad Apps u use?
I bought an ipad2, finally ,after price drops and the announcement of the 3rd gen.
I did my research and have found some apps that actually look like they may add some "real" value to my workflow and/or music prodction toolkit.
I am aware that these apps will not be a real "subsitute" for real hardware/software and I will do all my main producing in abelton. Just looking to add fun extra and inovative ideas to my workflow. I plan on using TouchOSC or Lemur ipad app to integrate the ipad into my live dj setup in ableton. The synth apps look interesting to create expressive pads maybe or use some korg effects in a reprocessing type of workflow. Im hoping to find a sequencer that will let me export midi data/clips too so i can program on the go and then slap beats and what not into a real ableton project when i get home. I also plan on routing my mixer into the ipad so i can use it as a static spectrum analyzer send when im doing mixdowns or live mixing stuff too.
I am considering picking up the following apps:
Korg iMS-20
iMaschine
IKaosilator
IElectribe
Animoog
Lemur for Ipad
TouchOSC
Any one use the ipad for production? HOw about live sets? Id appreciate any links/reading or opinoins on the subject.

Re: Ipad Apps u use?
I have used my ipad in the studio and on stage. Not a toy thats for sure.
I also like imaschine, ms-20 (this is actually really good), personally wouldn't bother with lemur for ipad and just go straight to touch osc or try out touchable if you use ableton.
Tbh, I have enjoyed utilizing my ipad more and more, it is nice to be confined to certain things, that feeling inspires some creativity.
This is a great one!nowaysj wrote:Tabletop!

I don't get imaschine, you can't load your own samples unless you record it through the crappy mic on the i device? Seems whack, I like Funk box, you can import through iTunes!
Re: Ipad Apps u use?
i played with animoog and it seems really fun and probably useful for making your own synth patches.
I saw mochipet live and he told me he was using the lemur app. he seemed to be doin some cool tings with it.

The way the ipad's os handles files (and lack of folders/directories) is totally fucked. I think I understand the reasoning behind it, but it is not to the user's benefit. Another reason to give apple the bird. No offense.DrastikMeazures wrote:I don't get imaschine, you can't load your own samples unless you record it through the crappy mic on the i device? I bought the touch osc and could never get it to work with logic :/
I use the V Control app from Neyrinck for riding volume automation for vocals and as a surround panner for mixing movies. Works great!
Def looking for more ways to put my ipad to use though

Sorry for hijacking this thread but I'm going to Muzikmesse on Friday and I need to have a decent app on my iPod so I can still make some music in the bus.
Something simple and preferably free. (Looked into Animoog but 30 euros is way too much for my budget atm).
