I've compiled a list of all the recommendations in the first post. I've omitted EP's (quite a few), stuff that I simply couldn't find (two or so), things released in 2011 (drexciya for example). I'll keep adding everyone's recommendations to the first post as they come along Thanks by the way, two or three of those are really good and new to me!

I've added rough genres to the albums, they're just to give people a vague indication, if they're wrong, pm me and I'll change it, but hopefully not too much wankery about that :)

Ok, serious recommendation from me. Desolate - Celestial Light Beings on Fauxpas Music. Sat down and listened to it the other night. Amazing stuff.

I don't know whether it'll be considered an EP cos it's 5 tracks but Ital Hive Mind is really good kinda experimental house which I know little about but this is really good

Tbh I enjoy the newer Noisia material more than their older (minus the bro remixes. those are shit). Though I always preferred Phace & Misanthrop and BSE.

yes very good house EP (wouldn't consider it an album). Especially the last track I like very much, but I feel it is lacking a little bit of cohesion to be a real top contender for me personally. Also, people can add EP's as much they like here in the thread. In fact, singles and such are fine with me as well. But I will only update the first post with albums if you don't mind.

Yeah that's all fair. I think I was spoiled by this time last year with a number of albums I thought (think) are really very good.

Not feeling that one to be honest. Loved the first album but apart from the single (comeback kid I think?) the new one hasn't hit me. May give it another try though.

I'd actually have MU.ZZ.LE by Gonjasufi on the list, it seems that it may be a bit more accessible than A Sufi and a Killer but no less interesting / good for it.

someone's already mentioned it, but I'm going to give a shout to:

Desolate - Celestial Light Beings
This is a Sven Weiseman sideproject. It sort of tries to recreate a Burial-esque vibe but uses a lot of classic instruments and rather minimal beats. I don't think this is highly original, but it's well crafted and some of the tracks are very touching (especially enjoying se7en). Recommended to at least check it out, I think some of you WILL like.

:z:

Yeah, that was me. Great album, definitely works better as an album rather than picking tracks out individually. Wasn't going to miss this one, slept on the other Desolate releases, and Discogs now punishes me with its unrealistic prices.

This might have come up in the House section, but the new Bass Clef album (Reeling Skullways) on Punch Drunk is worthwhile. Probably just under the top ranking albums for me, it's good and combines a lot of different influences, but I don't see anything brand spanking new or innovative in it. It's good listening, but won't break much waves.

Also a shout out for the new Death Grips album, which is truly super heavy and gritty. It's a bit weirder than the previous one (exmilitary) which was either INSTA like or dislike, this one is a bit of a grower but the heavy electronica is still very much a part of this one.

Yes yes on the bottom three. RIP is not from this world. Deffo top contender for album of the year. The others I'm not familiar with unfortunately (not my genre) but I trust Ultraspatials judgement, he's added some top notch shit. Will add to the first post shortly when I'm home!

really gonna reiterate Cloud Nothings- Attack On Memory

this is going to be a band that in 5 years everyone knows and champions and this will be the album people look back on and wish they knew about them. Get familiar now. Don't miss the bus on these guys. Saw them a few weeks back infront of maybe 100 people. Went to eat applebees with them afterwards. Amazed this band isnt massive yet but bookmark this thread, in 3-5 years someone on this forum is going to use the search function to look for a thread about them and instead see this post. These dudes are gonna blow up

drums on that one ^ make me smile
