Fuel Crisis
"Hey guys, we're being butt fucked in the media a bit what with our 'cash-for-access' scandal and the Granny/Pasty taxes, how's about a fuel crisis to take the heat off a bit?"
"Genius idea Dave! And all that panic buying & cheeky forecourts charging a bit extra will bump up the economy ahead of the end of Q1 so we might avoid dropping back into recession!"
"Now that's thinking on your feet George!"
"huh-huh-huh, we're brilliant"
"Shut up, Nick"
True story.

Sadly, I'm pretty certain that is indeed the casewub wrote:"Hey guys, we're being butt fucked in the media a bit what with our 'cash-for-access' scandal and the Granny/Pasty taxes, how's about a fuel crisis to take the heat off a bit?"

Re: Fuel Crisis
pretty much.
other plus is that this will hopefully speed up the raising costs of it. wishful thinking to think people will follow the trail of where it all comes from.

Re: Fuel Crisis
40 minute queue at the pumps round my ends yesterday. I'm not even panic buying I genuinely needed to refuel but I did put a little extra in to take it up to a full tank.

Re: Fuel Crisis
Cameron said buy petrol coz there might be a strike (which was a bit silly)kidshuffle wrote:whats going on?
Even sillier, idiots did
Now all stations have run out of petrol, and are closing anyway due to big queues backing onto roads
And the strikes are definitely not happening

Tanker drivers threatening strike, government originally had quite a comprehensive plan to prevent any disruption, realised panic buying might keep us out of recession in Q1, proceeded to make everyone loose their shit and think there won't be an easter because there's no petrol despite the drivers needing to give a weeks notice before they strike, everyone goes mental. Think i've covered most of it

Re: Fuel Crisis
Such a shitty move to the blame on the Unions again and take the heat off the fact Osborne is deliberately fucking over absolutely everyone not classed as rich or a business.
I'm so dog tired of politics in this country. So tired of my vote (Lib Dem) being abused by people who saw it as a way to get into power rather than change the country for better. I'm tired of the focus of the media and generally modern politics being about who eats fucking pasties in what shops. I'm tired of being openly lied to by politicians so completely removed from normal UK life they can no longer honestly claim the represent the people. I'm direly tired of the sugar coating and spin instead of transparent governing. It makes me sick to my stomach that the Government tried to blame the youth in London for the looting/riots, I'm tired of them deliberately misdirecting blame from themselves letting them down. I'm so tired of the government and health service being almost entirely reactive, you know Cuba (designated a developing country) has the same life expectancy and a higher rated quality of life than the UK. Why because it's pro active, a doctor come to your house twice a year! Because horrific companies like Maccy D's aren't allowed to trade their because of the embargo in the States. Yet the UK embrace these things they know are actively killing their own citizens. I'm tired of my tax money being spent on foreign wars when things are so bad here. I'm dead tired of the backwards drug laws in this country and the demonisation of recreational users, when the lead researcher and appointed Govt advisor has to leave his position because his opinion didn't agree with the Tory agenda, something has gone direly wrong.
I'm so fed the fuck up with politics in this country it is making me actively look for other countries to live in.
