Good tracklist on the disc 1, although it comes accross as ' Now thats what I call Dubstep....'with A Westwood style voiceover everytime I see the artwork.

Mr Hyde wrote:(apart from being a bit old and stuff thats already been out)
i wouldn't say all those tunes are old. that burial remix just came out like a month or two ago, likewise for the goth trad tune. dub war on the other hand... still a quality tho. doesnt sound a bit dated to me.
and it makes zero sense to me why someone would even consider dropping a bunch of unreleased tunes out to the massive on a "now hear this" type of compilation. that's just the dumbest shit i've probally ever heard in my life. of course it doesn't have unreleased tunes on it! why would it? unless it's a mix cd, there's no way in hell labels and artists are gonna give forthcoming and unreleased material to a cd compilation like this, unless the tune was truly and absolutely going nowhere else. in which case, it would probally be really old or suck.
[edit : i take that back, sorta. there is the possibility that up and coming artists who werent signed to the majors might make it on a comp like that. so that kinda shits on my "old or sucks" comment.]

yeah i saw this at virgin the other day, interesting. not sure if it works too well because it's like 3 genres rolled into one, if you're only digging one of them then you're not up for buying it. ehhhhhhh

shouldn't the 'bass' section be called 'breaks'?
'bass' isn't a recognised genre as far as i'm aware... but aquasky/deekline/ed solo/etc are all breaks/breakbeat producers...
apart from this made-up genre and the tacky-as-fuck front cover, this cd does offer a nice surface-skim of the big tunes in each genre i spose...
one for the posers...

lol! hardly!
i would've totally put rubber chicken or big headed slags on there instead of cockney violin for an n-type tune. my girl plays that tune so often that i've actually got a bit of a beef with it, makes me sick.

guess the dubstep cd is a reasonable introduction to the genre. probably a reasonable money spinner for resist music too (to go alongside their fresh-out 'the world’s greatest ibiza club mix')
sorry, but anything titled 'the world's greatest/biggest/heaviest...etc' smacks of wack a bit.
