Anyone going/been this year?

I have just spent the most amazing 5 days of my life there.
Went to Pacha opening with pete tong and 2manyDJ's - 2manyDJ's absolutely SMASHED it. Went to space opening fiesta aswell from 4.30pm till 6 in the morning, absolutely fucking mind blowing! Longest I've ever been raving for and my God did it feel like it in the morning. Mark Knight was the king of the show, dropped man with the red face at the end of his set and I almost started crying, possibly cause of the MD.

It was quite funny aswell, there was a power cut or something about 10 mins into Carl Cox's set outside, music and lights all went off!

Got some really great pictures of the sunset at cafe mambo aswell, although 3 out of the 4 times we were there it was ruined by clouds which was a shame.

Sounds great mate, I would really like to go to one of the Cocoon partys there!

This year I'll probably stick to Sziget and Lowlands though.

Well... Me and my mates booked about 4 months before we went. Flights and accomodation for 5 nights came to £261. It's worth checking out different air companys because you could mix and match with say ryan air and easyjet. We stayed at Ibiza rocks hotel which is actually a fairly decent place despite the amount of louts you get there screaming their heads off at 5am.

I took £500 spending money (about 550ish euros) and came back with 40 euros, although I hardly drank at all. If you want to get smashed in clubs, beware, Pacha is EXTREMELY expensive - 10 euros for a bottle of WATER. Space wasn't much better at 7 euros a bottle. But then again they are super clubs... I'd expect to be spending a LOT of money on alcohol in these kind of clubs. Best thing to do would be to go down the west end strip in sant antoni, on the first day me and 6 mates got smashed off 10 euros each because the small club and bar reps will do anything to get you in.

2manydj's are the shit! (that's where my name comes from if you didn't already noticed)

Ibiza always seemed a bit .. how should I put it.. ordinary? (lots of shallow people, etc..) to me. Or is the vision that I have of it totally wrong?

i reckon if you go exploring in ibiza you will find some gems, go off the beaten pacha track. i mean theres so many djs and music people out there over summer that there is bound to be something good somewhere.

unwind, how easy to find/expensive were ... party extras out there?

Before I saw them at Pacha I'd actually never heard of 2manyDjs to be honest! Glad I did see them though, they played some absolute bangers... As for Ibiza seeming 'ordinary', I know exactly what you mean, I thought the same thing before I went... But seriously, going there has completely changed my view... The atmosphere at the clubs is just amazing, I'm not sure if it's just an opening/closing party thing, but other clubs don't even compare... The ice cannons, the lasers, the atmosphere... Mark Knight literally stood up on the deck table and started waving his arms to man with the red face... I mean, when the fuck do you ever see that?! Lol.

Well by the second night I had got hold of some good pills, a block of hash and my mate got some ket just by asking around in the small clubs and bars in the west end of sant antoni. Pills were 10-15 euros each, got the hash for 20 euros and it was easily 7 joints worth. Although some of my mates payed 40 euros for weed. It was more than your average 8th bag but still alot for how much there was. The thing is it depends on who you go to really... I got some MD off a guy I met out there who in turn got it from a german guy he'd met there 3 years ago, and he said it was a very reliable source...

I've never been attracted to big commercial clubs or festivals
but I read a description of somebody's trolling around Ibiza with reporters access,
being accosted by tall Russian models (?) & enjoying the novelty.

But, apart from the rampant sybaritism whilst Spain's youth go unemployed & poor,
it seems pretty poor value for money...(overpaid djs & drug baron club owners),
there's probably no proppa dubstep
& little chance for genuine human contact amongst the bacchanalian excess.

Sounds more like a place to go & assassinate some of the indulged 1%
than a venue to hear good music, be healthy & happy and strike up a fulfilling dalliance.

Or am I being too harsh?

Will be heading over there for a long weekend hopefully this year with my mates. You have to do a Circoloco on a Monday during the day at DC10. So much better than Space or any of the main clubs. Dont stay in San Antonio tho, unless youre a chav tnuc. Theres probably going to be alot of dubstep in clubs like Eden etc this year.........although not the right kind of dubstep.

Went to Ibiza last year around June and had an awesome time, we did stay in san antonio but only to sleep and get to and from clubs quicker and easier.
We hired out a car for the week so we could cruise around the decent parts of the island and find chav free beaches during the day time, also getting a ferry to Formentera is a big recommendation as the water there is incredible.

Yeah theres not much better than sitting on the steps infront of cafe mambo/cafe del mar with a couple of drinks, watching the sun go down before heading out for a night of house music til the sun comes up.

Was about to say something about the good techno nights there.. they're still around but holy crap there's
a lot of bro nights. Few days in Berlin, London or Amsterdam might be a better choice.

Possibly flying over one weekend if there is something decent, but not having a proper jaunt this year.
