I was just about to reply with "But it is pretty bad for you, isn't it?", but did some Googling and it appears that most of the testing done on it over the last 10-15 years has come to the conclusion that it's not that bad at all... it's probably the rest of the sugar and shit in your Chinese takeaway and the alcohol you have with it that causes the odd reactions. It might make you a bit fat in the longterm, but that might be from eating more and more tasty food. :6:

Interesting. I've tried to avoid MSG since I was about 18... I may have fallen victim to the Hype.

MSG is in Doritos...

Well - they aren't really sure what causes ms - it's more like...
people with ms tend to show sensitivity too msg
- but they haven't been able to prove anything...

They have proven though - that phenylalanine aka aspartame is really bad
...for people with the genetic disorder Phenylketonuria

but that's just what I've read...

Oh - If you mean't aspartame, I was going to say Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld...

Aspartame is actually good for you if you don't have Phenylketonuria.

It helps you to process amino acids...

I discovered this researching why a multiple vitamin I was considering had a phenylketonurics warning...

I was like - WHY are they putting sweeteners in a vitamin...

they weren't - they were putting in phenylalanine to help the body with processing amino acids...

Never heard of this. One to add to the spice rack! INB4 cubes of chemicals becoming our main food source.
