I should have said 05-08. Only album after 08 that I would consider classics would be City Limits and One of Usultraspatial wrote:What about Repercussions, London Zoo, Jarvik Mindstate, Three EPs, Nomad, Diary..., Ephemeral Exhibits, Glyphic, A Mutual Antipathy ?Duffman wrote:It's true mate, although top quality dubstep/bass is being released on a regular basis the quality and long-lasting appeal of the albums on that list haven't been touched in the last few years imoDevry[Kaneda] wrote:I really like how lists like that really havent changed since 2010.....
like obviously there is still loads of amazing shit being released, but the lack of amazing albums from the OG dubstep crew is a little saddening...
and to avoid the obvious flaming I might get, I'm talking heads like distance, etc...
I can assure you all Im aware of all the incredible albums currently being released.
I dunno I can't think of that many classics albums since 05-07...

Can't remember my exact first, remember I got into Skream's self titled album, Distance's My Demons, Benga's Newstep and Burial's Untrue right around the beginning of my dubstep journey though and loved them, as well as a few random Digital Mystikz tunes like Anti War Dub and Spongebob. Also heard a couple of more commericial tunes like stuff by Borgore and Excision at the same time to be fair, hated Borgore but enjoyed some of Excision tunes like That Girl, still don't mind that. This was all in 2009, was a bit late to the dubstep party but better late than never I suppose. This music's changed my life so I'm delighted that I've been able to discover it and take part in it over the past three years.

Needless to say, I fell in love and here I am.

Nothing wrong with Woo Boost at all imo. Not really sure for me, I probably heard those Skream tunes in Skins before I actually knew what they were but I think the first tune I heard knowing it was dubstep was Bar 9 - Strung Out as part of this mix:
Not a horrible introduction to the genre, especially compared to what UKF uploads these days, but it of course led me into a short bro-phase before I discovered Skream! and Untrue via that Amazon list mention above. That was around 2 years ago I think

Some Charlie Sheen remix crap, then followed by skream - filth.
Re: Whats the first dubstep track you ever heard?
i had a few albums, skreams first. a few of the pretty shit compilations, nothing too special. tune that really got me hooked was Pinch - The Boxer. the tune is still one of my favourite tunes of all time

Re: Whats the first dubstep track you ever heard?
The first tune i listened to was a breakbeat remix of this one in a breakbeat mix of a friend, i though, wo that wawwawawa sound is weird, I asked my friend about the name of the tune, then i listened to the original, i thought, not bad, but wtf this genre is? so I asked in youtube comments and they said to me it was dubstep, i went to wikipedia and i heard about skream and digital mystikz, i don't remember with was the first skream tune I listened but I remember the dmz one, in that moment i mostly listened reggae, and i saw "walking with jah" so i clicked into the video and i thought god, this music is so boring and i went back to skream, then silkie, then kromestar, then digital mystikz etc etcehbrums1 wrote:unfortunately
