Could you maybe upload some mixes you're not happy with? Hard to tell what you Could do better from just the description. Sounds like you've got the basics nailed down

Trial and error. When I first started, I just started trying to mix random tunes together. After a while I learned what worked well with what, and from there, it was just more and more practice.

not necessarily, sometimes a word of advise from someone else can save you hours of practice. Many musicians practice with a teacher for exactly that reason.

lol i'm gonna say what you'd prolly say in a similar situation

patience and practice do not equal talent because talent is a given gift which cannot be acquired through practice, no matter how hard. you can become really good on the other hand, but you can't become talented, you are talented :)

...depend what you mean by 'Talent'

I think anyone can be good at virtually anything with lots of practice, enough so that they would definitely be described as talented by some people. But of course some people do have natural gifts for things.

dont worry, its because you've only been doing it for 6 months. for fucks sake. when i first started playing the drums i sucked for years, and i never for one single second thought "i should be able to do this, live, in front of people, after 6 months." that's just unrealistic

basically, if it sounds shitty to you, then that;s because you still suck, and you're a noob. just keep practicing, and eventually you won't suck, because then you'll be good. it's that simple.

and dont look for a "formula". learn the tracks front to back , and then you'll know when to mix them
