Reason sampling - Recycle etc?
Hello everyone.
My mates just hooked me up with Reason, and I'm giving it a whirl and really liking it so far. However I just found the NNXT sampler and I saw that the sample needs to be in WAV format, so I did a little search online and it came up with Recycle. I was going to buy it but that price is extortionate.
How do you go about sampling in Reason? Via Audacity? And is recycle any better than something like Edison inside FL or sampler inside Ableton? I don't really understand it's purpose or why it's priced like that.
Thanks.

Re: Reason sampling - Recycle etc?
Well, see, thing is, I would use Ableton, but every single tune I make in it, is poor. There's no rhyme or reason it seems. Everything I made in FL, would recieve some good feedback, everything in Ableton recieves none. I guess I'm just not made to use it. It frustrates me because it's got some great effects etc, but I just suck with it.. simple as.drake89 wrote:yeah I don't either. ableton-->slice to midi
So back ON topic. Any workarounds for reason instead of using recycle?
Re: Reason sampling - Recycle etc?
naw you dont need recycle unless you want to slice your audio into rexs (many times this will be a great method) but to use the nnxt, you can convert any audio file into wav and load it up, you may need an audio editor like, cool edit, audacity etc to do the conversion. I have used some sketch ass samples in tunes but im hardcore like that, i just feel it may be good to mention, that music is a big "put shit in get shit out" scenerio, so if you using mp3s for samples you may in the end wonder why your tunes do not sound as polished as others, unless your ready for that and hardcore like me you may be better served finding higher quality samples.

Re: Reason sampling - Recycle etc?
^ you could use fl or ableton to convert as well, slap in the sample bounce/export it out as wav.

Re: Reason sampling - Recycle etc?
Recycle is nice If u want to take better advantage of rex.
Although if u don't wanna fork the extra cash i'd suggest just
converting to wav or downloading in wav in the first place.
I usually convert my files online if u type in mp3 to wav you should find some places.
