Yeah but that was basically something that belonged in the "how do I make this sound" thread, just asking specifically about the one in that lung/Kryptic minds tune. This is more about people just sharing ideas about this specific strain of Reese bass.

And the Reese Bass thread is mostly people just posting their creations, not giving advice about reese basses, so that's why this doesn't belong there.

Glad you guys enjoy my avatar, I certainly do :w:

Have you seen this? http://audio.tutsplus.com/tutorials/sou ... d-hoovers/ You can even download the patch as an EXS instrument. Then just lowpass it and adjust the resonance to taste.

This always annoys me when people say that they can't do multiband shit.

1. Send to three channels

2. Put multiband compressors on each. Make sure it's not compressing or raising the gain of anything.

3. Mute 2 out of the bands on each compressor so you're left with high, mid, and low channels

4. Add whatever effects you want to whatever band you want.

5. ????????????????????????

6. Stop whining about not having multiband fx on dsf

7. Credit dididub whenever you use this tip on a track.

8. I was fucking serious about 7. I will sue you.

Yeah i'm most definitely up for collabing with any one on the forum.Let me know when you are up for it and i'm on it.
Thanks mate, i appreciate the feedback. I'll put it another way, i'm not making the tunes i want to yet, and won't be satisfied until i can. 8)

Yeah i'll be back in a couple of weeks, i look forward to it. I've never collaborated before so it should be interesting.

Are any of us making the tunes we want? When i sound identical to chasing shadows i will be happy
They for me make the chunkiest reece's in the business and have a sound i can only dream of replicating.
When your back just drop me a pm,i'll be in Turkey soon working for a week so if i'm there i will get back to as soon as i'm home.I think a good idea would give eachother some reference tracks of where we want to go and then pass stems to eachother.I use reason and believe your on fruity i think so just sending wavs through soundcloud or sendspace will make the process a lot easier.
I think lets make it reece based because this is where we basically met so maybe it's fate, your gonna help me crack that chasing shadows sound

Alright that'll be helpful! Thanks man! Before I just dl that though, I'll have to have spend some more time trying to make reeses myself, or else it's basically cheating

Maybe, but if I'm using them and I don't know how to go about actually MAKING them, well then I'm pretty confined.

This. Walk the balance. And who says you have to leave the sound the way it was? Anytime i get a patch or sample of a bass sound, i process the shit out of that shit, haha. Literally. Pre-made patch/samples are rarely quality, in my experience anyway.

fair enough, but I just want to really get in the sound and know how to construct it, I think that's fundamental. Right now I just started trying out Hircine's steps

If you have an additive synth, look around and see if there's an option to recreate the sound you input into it. I'm not really not sure what this feature is called, but i know a few additive synths have it.

IL Harmor does this, it's called resynthesis - one of the only reasons I actually use it.
